Afternoon

Got a Mega 105WR and Telkom as my ISP and have had ADSL for about 8 months now.
The first 6 months everything was fine as I had a reliable connection and could just top up with ease when my cap ran out. However the past 2 months my connection is constantly dying and I'll have to wait for a couple of hours with the DSL light just flashing and just wait until the internet light comes back on. I looked around and found that one can upgrade the firmware on the Mega 105WR, so i did just that and upgraded to 99.70.6

The helped out a little bit, but for the last month my connection just dies all too often and the last straw was this wkend when I registered for 3 poker tournaments on Full Tilt and as they started, my connection died and the DSL light just starting flickering. In pure frustration I punched the Mega 105WR and cracked the top of the casing but the DSL light just laughed at me and carried on flickering.
That was Friday 6pm. It is now Monday 4pm and finally the internet light has come back on. I've tried pressing that reset button, tried fiddling around with all the options in the 10.0.0.2 menu and checked all my cabling.
Can someone please help me as I am truly sick of this ****ty connection. I have also checked the system log and this is all it says:

POst your attenuation & SNR values here.

Log a fault with Telkom explaining the ongoing problems and ask them to move you to another port on the dslam.

It may not be the router as I have had that problem before, if water gets into the line it causes intermittent connection, and when it drys out everything seems fine..also the line could be damaged.

The last time this happened I called telkom and they sent a technician out and now I have no problems, I think you should log a call..

are SNR and attenuation values not only for wireless connections?
If not, where abouts can I find those values?
Thanks

hm....
This problem does only really seem to occur when its been wet weather so it very well could be.
Thanks

Sounds like a dry joint somewhere on your line (house to exchange).

Report the line and insist on a ref number. The call centre will try and do a remote test on your line and, being a nice day, it might test 100% !!!

Make sure to tell them it is intermittent and normally deteriorates during bad weather.

My friend had the same problem and he reported it to telkom and they repaired the connection. Always had poor connection when it rained.
