Hellmann's - What junk is this?

This is what you want
No, just no.

Not mayonnaise because of the reduced fat content, so if you can find or make the same thing locally it'll be cheaper.
Not mayonnaise because it legally cannot be called mayonnaise... but still the wrong thing to put on fries.

Presumably you're in a country where you can still get Hellmann's, so why?

I know nothing about fries

but still the wrong thing to put on fries

You're wrong. You're so wrong even wrong people say you are wrong. If this was a math quiz and we asked what's 3+5 it's like answering "potato", that's how wrong you are.

It's like that time they decided to not end SG-1 after season 7 and raped it for three more seasons, just plain wrong.

I've tried to put how wrong you are in words but I cannot quite say it that's how wrong you are.

Presumably you're in a country where you can still get Hellmann's, so why?

Why the actual wrong **** would I do this if I have access to fritessaus?

You're so wrong you might as well be Canadian - except it's not even mayonnaise, it's mung.

Be like most South Africans are eat half cooked chips soaked in oil for way too long slathered in tomato sauce so watered down that it's pink.

Does anybody know what brand tomato sauce this is, I remember seeing on shelves in fairly large Bottles on the bottom shelves of supermarkets

Factory shop tomato sauce.

I don’t think it ever has a name. Any and all bulk tomato sauce tastes like it.

Actually had this from some Dutch folk out in De Rust and it is quite awesome.

Apparently there is some Netherlands importer in Brackenfell where you can buy all this stuff.

We can get at our local Spar. We use it and it is great for chips, but Hellmans for absolutely everything else for me.

At least they didn’t lie and call it mayonnaise.

:kots:

If you want that kind of thing then Cross & Blackwell Trim instead.

What's the thoughts on Japanese Mayo?

I've seen it but never indulged.

How on earth have you never tried it?

Doesn’t work quite the same and is generally used for more particular things especially in Asian cooking.

Can also be made at home easily but you pretty much need MSG otherwise it’s just not quite right.

Funnily enough the Japanese had no clue what Mayonnaise was until they went to America…which also doesn’t understand what Mayonnaise is…and then came back and made their own version of it with more egg yolks and an Asian twist and it skyrocketed to the point where people now think it started there.

Much sweeter and less tangy than other varieties and in that way also lighter which is why it doesn’t work with everything.

Excellent with salmon and other oily fish. Works great for things like red cabbage salad especially with wasabi.

10 minutes on a bad day to get there!

I usually just get the cheap mayo, Nola or whatever. Everyone has been talking about Hellmann's. Great. Got a small one, Original it says, for R30. Why not?

First taste. Salt.
Texture. Puffy air like egg white.
Aftertaste. Slight mustard powdered egg with salty oil taste.

What is this salty rubbish?

Did I get expired Mayo? It says BB Sep 12 21.
I don't like Mayonnaise
