HelloPeter under fire

Its just BS story.... probably some memo went round that said make sure you don't transfer calls to supervisors, and you'll get a performance bonus.

exactly. and these days it's not easy getting hold of manager's and director's email addresses. so what else must we do?

Honestly these types of complaints are popping up more and more at the moment and I think everyone is starting to understand that Peter is more worried about his own personal gain than anyone else.

I stopped using them as soon as Telkom were given a smiley face....

wether he is extorting money from companies or not, sometimes posting a complaint on the site is the only way anything gets done do address issues you are having.

I am happy to continue using his site.

Extortion is illegal and by posting on that site, you're supporting a criminal. That site would not have lasted 2mins, if it was opened Europe/US.

i actually dont care. if it's the only way to get SERVICE then so be it. I only use hellopeter as a last resort and it seems to happen with every complaint that i have.

By stealing you too could solve many of your problems, but for moral reason, we don't. Why is this so different?

perhaps because we are paying for a service and aren't getting service. doenst this mean the companies are stealing from the cutomer?

im sorry, if it hadnt been for hellopeter i would still have had many queries unresolved by companies including a R500 fraudulent transaction on my petrol card.

perhaps you have never been in a situation where you had to make use of hellopeter.

I've been able to use HelloPeter to good effect to get improved customer service. Case in point, having had no luck with MI Digital on my XBOX RROD, I took the complaint to Microsoft on HelloPeter and after a couple of false starts, they responded favourably and my issue was resolved. While I understand that there's abuse in the system from consumers (fake and unreasonable complaints, etc), companies (carbon copy cut-and-paste passing of the buck) and the host (extortion, etc), it has been valuable to me.

You know what I don't get, if these companies don't like hellopeter's extortion, why don't they contract someone else to start a similiar site that doesn't charge,...

So.......who wants to help me put one together?

You mean why don't they make a shill or astroturf site?

Sure.

HelloPeter ain't perfect but it's the best there is. Kudos to Peter Cheales for exposing poor service.

If we were in EUROPE we'd have other avenues to use - various pro-consumer bodies and laws and cooling off periods. If this was the US we could make FTC complaints and there are numerous bodies there too eg the BBB. Besides in both Europe and US (and many other parts of the world) there are many competitors who will gladly offer you a better deal.

Not 100% sure where that R13 000 figure comes from!

We had a complaint about my company. Was not founded, so we asked for the right to reply. They sent though a quotation, and for a year subscription was R800.00

This includes advertising on their front page.

R800 for a small business is a small price to pay for advertising and being able to respond. Whoever wrote that article was exaggerating the costs.

This is what was included in the R800.00
No offence, but exactly HOW MANY complaints did HelloPeter show on their site about your company?

He has a site, and he holds the key. if he wants to charge companies, good for him.

If companies can't afford it, then tough cookie - Peter didn't create the site for companies, but for the people.

if Hi-Fi Corporation needs to pay R12000 a year for their screw ups, good. perhaps it would teach them to not screw up in the first place.

His site is his site - he makes the rules. sorry.

+1

Besides, no one is forcing these companies to pay.
