Yes, but what concerns me more is the fact that this might be the last time my mate ever lends me a hard drive...:D

what happens if they see you have a keygen for winzip or an ISO of "Little Barbie Adventure 2" or a NFO/etc for "Terminator 2" ?

do they do anything though?
 
So now the only questions that remain:
• Are you telling him, or just having it repaired?
• Is his friendship worth the 3 grand?

I told him about 5 minutes ago once I was sure I was going to have the data recovered.

His reply: "Sweet dude, let me know when its done and if they couldn't recover anything" :eek:

So yes, he is a mate worth the R3k...

My little sis has 11gigs of paid-for-itunes music so this shouldn't be an issue. She is more into Saw and The Exorcist than Barbie Adventure 2 though. I was so disappointed, been looking everywhere for it...:(

Haha DJk, shame buddy that is a bummer....Had the same thing happen to me, dropped the drive and walakazam *click squeak splutter* Lost something crazy like 50 gig of music I had been collecting since the invention of the Mp3. Sad day that was, It still haunts me. Hope you come come right man! ;)
 
Something like this happened to me as well once. With a small 40GB drive. Bumped the thing or something while it was running :o Luckily it was not a Mission Critical HDD and it was mine, not a friend's :D

Just stashed the drive somewhere. Know how you must feel DJK. Good luck man!

No it was my second favourite but heart-wrenching nonetheless...:(

Luckily the glass was only half [-]empty[/-] full but it was a glass of 12 year old dimple. Thanks for your concern and support, it really means a lot to me...

It seems God saw through your cheap attempt at buying him. Should have gone the whole hog and promised to become a catholic priest and molest some little boys.
 
Oh and excellent narration if you will. I could feel the tension build up quite well. And your use of imagery helped me fully capture the events as they unfolded. So again good job sir.
