Help me build a midrange gaming PC

Just look at this board it comes with purity sound and the extreme boards I think have better features than the pro series in general.

Right, I'm almost R10k poorer and my wife hasn't spoken to me since Tuesday!!!



As it goes with me and luck, after I've connected everything up I battled for almost an hour because the PC would get to the BIOS screen and then the monitor just goes blank.

It then dawned on me that my monitor was FUBAR and the PC which I thought had given up the ghost was actually still working 100%.

So now I have two working PCs and I'm thinking of converting the older one into an HTPC. Specs:
Asus Rampage (can't remember which one exactly)
E8400
4Gigs RAM
Coolermaster 550w PSU

The only problem is it will probably consume quite a bit more juice than the newer, low power HTPC's.

I dont know

I sent my monitor in for repairs and I'll be getting it either today or tomorrow.

If I don't then I'm going to look at a 2nd hand one and use them both when mine gets back.

I had it hooked up to my TV to reinstall everything and load drivers. It was running quite nicely
