Help on Upgrading internet package

:confused:So this is my dilema i am very new to the internet scheme, I currently have my line and data with Telkom:
Closer option 2, 384 kbps 10 gig cap.
I have been looking at Open Web Vanilla uncapped packages, I need uncapped as i have 2 other people on my line and i love my movies :whistle:

SO my question is this and I need a proper answer:

IF i want to get that Package do I need to upgrade my line to the respected line e.g 1mb in Telkom before i can go on the open web account or will I get the 1mb line and bandwidth for that price?
Want uncapped and it seems cheaper than Telkom.

P.S What are the line speeds during the day I know its shaped but I dont mind I work 11 hour days.
Could some one give me a line speed break down e.g 6a.m to 6.pm xxx kbps ??

Intending to download a lot: Openweb Gold (there is a special on right now on gold accounts) or Mweb uncapped. Don't expect much during the day, evenings should max out your line.
 
your line is going to be upgraded automaticly to 1mb before the end of october. so you just need to get a new uncapped data isp.

go with MWEB. they're the best of the worse. stable. and they dont throttle you to death like the other isp's.

and it would not break the bank.

i've tried ALL the isp's. they're all evil.
 
Luck of the draw. Some get shaped, others not. On Openweb I was shaped and on Telkom never. Speak to someone else and they'll tell a different story.
 
I will consider Mweb but i need a answer if i wanted to go over i need to upgrade my line with Telkom before? I might do the 2mb package on mweb or open web.
 
I suggest you wait until October when (hopefully) the Telkom 384 > 1Mb upgrades are completed and the dust has settled. More info IRO the various ISPs uncapped accounts performance & pricing should be available then.

Yes i am waiting but what i need to know is do I need to push up the line by Telkom before going over to Afrihost Axes etc, lets say i want to go on 4 mb Uncapped on Afrihost or Open web. Just need that question answered.

A 1Mb uncapped account won't cut it for 3 people so you might as well "bite the bullet" and start shopping for a 2 or 4Mb uncapped account now and get Telkom to upgrade your line accordingly. Axxess seem to have the cheapest 4 thru 10Mb uncapped ATM if you're not going to be downloading during normal work hours.

I think it's still too early to comment on the various 2Mb uncapped accounts price/performance.

You don't have to wait. Some people recommend leaving the line with Telkom and take data with ISP of choice.
