Help plox, wifi AP problems

Need to see PC connection wifi stats here...

FYI, 20Mbps is not a standard wifi throughput rate and would fluctuate a bit if it was that low. I suspect you're seeing channel width here...

No PCs on wifi on this AP, actually. It's only for phones/tablets etc in the bedroom area. The NAS in the bedroom cupboard is wired.

I know it's not a standard rate. But the speedtest tells a story:
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/i/1636100334

The graph is completely flat at 19mb.

So I have a wifi AP/router/firewall thing. It seems to have all the features and stuff. Most of which I don't use, cos I only use it as an AP.
It's supposedly 450N and all that goodness - http://www.intellinet-network.com/wireless-450n-dual-band-gigabit-router

My problem is, it seems all the associated clients are only allocated 20mb of bandwidth each.
QoS is disabled.

Anyone have any idea how I can make it go faster?

Did you check this setting?

34 SYSTEM & NETWORK SETUP

Associated Clients — Click “Show Active Clients” to see the status of all active
wireless stations connected to the access point.

2.7.2 Advanced Wireless Settings
Normally, there is no need to make any changes here. Unless you know that your
network requires special settings, you can proceed to 2.7.3 Wireless Security.
Fragment Threshold — Set the fragment threshold of the wireless radio.
NOTE: If you aren’t sure what this should be set to, leave it as the default value of 2346.
RTS Threshold — Set the RTS (return to sender) threshold of the wireless radio.
NOTE: If unsure what this should be set to, leave it as the default value: 2347.
Beacon Interval — Set the beacon interval of the wireless radio. NOTE: If you
aren’t sure what this should be set to, leave it as the default value of 100.
DTIM Period — Set the DTIM (delivery traffic indication message) period of the
wireless radio. NOTE: If you aren’t sure what this should be set to, leave it as the
default value of 3.
Data Rate — Set the wireless data transfer rate to a specific value. Since most
wireless devices will negotiate with each other and pick a proper data transfer
rate automatically, it’s not necessary to change this value unless you know what
will happen after modification.
N Data Rate — Same as above, but only for 802.11n clients.
Channel Width — Set the channel width of the wireless radio. NOTE: If you aren’t
sure what this should be set to, leave it as the default setting (“Auto 20/40 MHz”).
Preamble Type — Set the preamble type. NOTE: If you aren’t sure what this should
be set to, leave it as the default setting (“Short Preamble”).
Broadcast ESSID — Decide if the wireless router will broadcast its own ESSID. You
can hide the ESSID of your wireless router (select “Disable”) so only people who
know the ESSID of your wireless router can connect to it.
CTS Protect — Enabling this function reduces the chance of radio signal collisions

Found that in the manual on page 35

Nope, I managed to lock the bitlocker on my laptop :p
So need recovery pin etc from work and will give it a shot tonight.

So, still no joy with this @#$@# thing.
As soon as my devices associate with my mikrotik they go up to 150mbps... and back down to 20 on the Intellinet.

So.
Any suggestions for a replacement?

I need at least 2 Gb ports, at least 4 ports total, and decent wifi speed. No ADSL/routing stuff needed at all.

Why not get UniFI ap's and a small 4 port switch? UniFI AP'S run very stable.

Where did you buy that thing from?

Where did you buy that thing from?

I can't even remember.

It may have been Esquire. Had it for ages, but slow wifi was never an issue cos it was still double the internet's speed ;)

Why did you buy a relatively unknown brand?

Based on specs and immediate need (I needed a gig switch to connect my backup NAS to, and also to extend wifi range as a bonus).
Not that unknown, I've encountered them before. Besides, this stuff isn't rocket science, any commodity kit should work.

Except Intellinet, obviously.

Im guessing support didnt get back to you?

They did, but were not useful:

"these are the values of your connected devices. Depending on the integrated WLAN
chipset, you will be shown its max bandwidth.
It seems that your devices have a Wireless G chipset and cannot go higher than
20MBit/s.
It also seems that you are using a wireless printer and a Huawei smartphone or
tablet.
Please double-check the specs of those devices and their supported wireless speed.
"

and

"did you alter the QoS settings? The bandwidth could have been limited there."

nope.

802.11a 54Mb/s -5GHZ
802.11b 11Mb/s -2.4GHZ
802.11g 54Mb/s - 2.4GHZ

Clearly they know nothing.
