Hi All,

I hope i am posting this in the right place. I am trying to setup a webserver and have spent days trying to set ports and my router so that my system can be accessed by others, with no luck.

Here is what I am trying to do and what I have done so far.

I installed Apache,MYSQL,PHP, for use with a virtual world based on the OpenSim project. Everything is working as it should on localhost. However I can not seem to get the config right for connections from others.

I am supposed to have a static IP. Here i set a static IP in windows with pref DNS as the router. I got a DNSDynamic account, running ipconfig shows DHCP = No and IP as the one I had set.

Somehow i think the issue that I can not connect maybe to do with the router, I have read and re-read the manual and perhaps it could have to do with the NAT setting. I have also opened the ports in the win firewall
that are called for.

Am I on the right track here or totally off base, I would really appreciated any advice or pointers on where i could look.

OS = Win 7 64
Router = Planet WNRT - 625G

Thanks
Abadon

NAT setting it is. If DYDNS is working then leave that. On your ADSL router you need to goto Port Forward. There you need to port forward port 80 to your windows box.

Download and install hfs server.Its easy to configure and works like a charm.
