Hi Guys

Do anybody have the contact details of a manager in Herotel?

The reason why I'm asking is that I requested a site visit for them to check on coverage, but nothing have happened so far, and I want to stir the pot a bit and get some reaction so that I know where to take it from there.

Thank you

/toddles off for the weekend

Their best effort is a hit and miss.
Phone their nearest office to you, ask to speak to sales, email the rep a Google Earth pin or coordinates.
This is what I had to do to check coverage for a farm I was interested in in the Koovalley.

Quite honestly if the pre-sales is so bad you need to chase them and you can’t even easily find the details to do so, then it can only get worse from here on out.

Walk away while you can.

There's a good reason, stay far away.

I cannot speak for the other guys. But I had to stalk their office ladies for 6 months in order to get Fiber. Its been almost a year and I have only had 2 outages lasting less than 30 minutes. This excludes the Idiot that thought it would be nice to get some firewood and Drop a big donkey tree on the Main string. That took a day to be replaced.

Some other customers might experience poorer service. But in general I am much happier than Openserve ADSL.

We bit the bullet and got it installed, 4/2Mbps uplink.

What most people don't realize is that a wifi uplink is not fully duplex, so any YUUUUUGE download (eg youtube video) will block access for other programs and devices.

No biggie for us, we can work around that limitation.

Been there, done that. For some reason the office ladies are always "busy" but a visit in person to the Herotel offices in Joubertina got us sorted.

Funny thing, this is one of the few places I know of that still has ADSL. Although it seems most people are on the WISP or LTE.

I'm spending a nudge over R1k on 200mbps fibre and we do between 1TB and 2TB each month. So for me the only alternatives would be uncapped LTE or if I am willing to take a speed knock, WISP.

What I can say is Herotel has excellent latency and the connection is solid with no dips, in that regard it is better than the LTE I use at our beach house.
