High cpu temps lately

Ok first of to my system specs

Q9450 @ 2.66 overclock to 3.2GHz
Zalman cnps 9700 cpu cooler
Cooler master cm 690 with all the fans and the also the one at back of cpu(80mm)
MSI p45-plat


My cpu cores are idleing at 50C a and I think should be less than 45C at least.

ambient temp is like 25C so not that hot. maybe I should get some good thermalpaste for my cpu cooler or get a better cooler. any suggestions? also any more info needed just tell me.

Check out whether your CPU cooler needs a bit of cleaning out

usually dust puppies accumulate in them and they don't cool as properly.

You will need to re-apply new thermal paste after removing the cooler though...

It can also be due to insufficient cool air entering your system. Check your PSU's exhaust fan for proper operation.

ok like I said my pc's got enough fans and my cable managment is also good. I already tried cleaning the dust out.

Anyway..

I have the CM690 case as well, my flow of fans are as follows:

Bottom : In
Side : In
Front : In
Back : Out
Top : Out
The other side (80mm) : Out

I also put in another 120mm fan in the unused 5.25" bays using cable ties to hold it in place, that's also blowing in.

Also you need to check if you the inside of your case is a positive pressure or negative pressure. Way to check this is simple.

On the back of your case, above where the clips are to hold down your graphics cards, is a panel full of holes, where the 2 holes are for water cooling. Just take a lighter and light it on the outside of your case by these holes. If the flame is blowing into your case, you have a negative pressure, if it's blowing away from the case, you have a positive pressure.

If you have negative pressure, to compensate for it, you will be pulling air in through all the unsealed areas which pulls in a lot of dust. If you have a positive pressure, the only dust coming in will be by the filters.

And what is your load temps?

Idle don't bother me much, it is getting summer and ambient will rise as well as idle temps, what matters is your load temps.
