Since the week-end, i get a latency of over 700 on WoW.

I'm on Openweb's semi shaped account in Nelspruit/White River area

This started when Blizzard in their infinite dumbass wisdom decided to let WoW clients download the 500MB 3.3 patch in the background while playing.

This setting is configurable, but, the default option is for the client to download while the person is playing.

Now, even if you actually ran launcher.exe and changed the download preferences to stop doing something so utterly stupid, there are some 7 000 000 people online who have not.

So, the latency is not only on IS's network, it's on the WoW backbone infrastructure as a whole.

So, wait it out and, as per usual, throw curses at Blizzard who still refuse to see any value in localised download points.

Have to agree here, this all started when the patch was released, although one of my friends that is on Cybersmart don't have the problem(saix???)

How do the guys on afrihost receive this problem as you are on the same IS backbone?

Well, my SAIX unshaped account (WebAfrica) has the same problem.
Please let me know where to purchase the account that does not have the problem.

He is on Cybersmart, getting latency under 400

Thanks for the info, I think I'll take a look at geting me one of them Cybersmart accounts.

My Afrihost account was performing under 430ms last night.
Seems that perhaps the world has finished downloading the patch perhaps?
