Higher speeds, better prices and larger usage allowances from Sentech

Guess we'll have to wait and see. First provider to offer prices equivalent to dial up with decent usage me thinks will make a killing with new users. Older uses need more to switch broadband providers.

They call it a 1 Mbit/sec service but it peaks at 800kbit/sec?

that reminds me.. why are they, particularly wireless I notice allowed to sell a service as '1MB/s' and then avg only 500kbps international.. yet for something like ADSL, if you download something and find its going at 1/2 the rate people phone in and use to whine like hell. That double standard i'll never understand.
 
network will be tweaked to ensure constant average throughputs.

yes we where tweaked unltil we left. the puny amount of users now
on network ensure little bit faster speeds ;)

Something gets done about slow ADSL where you live? Because every weekday during business hours I can feel my ADSL line drowsing a bit.

I'm on iBurst now, and I absolutely love it!

That might be true,it always works better in the shop. 1Mbps 1024bits per second /8 to give KB kilo bytes per second.
 
The only good thing I get from this article is that it might put the boot up iBurst to bring out some new packages. Their current ones are stale and are being left behind by the competition. Since wholesale bandwidth prices have dropped by 40%, it is time iBurst passed some of those benefits onto their clients.
 
oh look who's feeling sorry for themselves, now they are trying to play catchup after the damage has been done - Sentech - too little too late.
 
Bah! (humbug) - way too little, far too late ..and this doesn't even begin to address their now nigh on crippling lack of towers/highsites/base stations compared with the competition - and that's iBurst AND (now) the cell operators who have all had the luxury of years' worth of stealing a march on Stinktech because of their inability to manage ..well, frankly, anything!

And when you pair their miserably poor signal footprint with their 6km tower-to-user network design (compared with iBurst's around 15km range (that I know of)), they REALLY don't come off well!
 
If they wanted to impress, they should push the speed up to the 8MB(down)/2MB(up) the technology can handle. Then they should just price the cap properly and people will buy it.
