I currently using a HP Microserver to run 2 Hikvision IP cameras. The Hikvision nvr software is slowing down the pc, to the point that its not functional.
So I'm currently just managing it via the Browser. - Which I can get it to record to my HDD.
Next option would be a dedicated NVR.
Now the question, I came across 2 that is more or less in my budget.
1. 8 Channel Embedded DS 7608 Ni-K2 (R1700)
2. 8 Channel Embedded Plug and Play DS 7608 Ni-Ks 8P (R2600)
Both seems exactly the same, so what I'm trying to figure out, why the price difference?
Could it be that the Plug & Play had POE ports, and the other you still need to add PoE injectors of a additional switch?
