Hisense 55T36 Owners Thread

Hi iGeorge

When the hisense tech came he had one look and offered me a credit, didnt even want to try and repair it. I have just gotten off the phone with hificorp, they are going to contact hisense and find out about the credit and then probably send me another tv.

Did you go for the same deal with the free 32" LCD? What are the prices on your receipt? My receipt says R10500 for the 55" and R2499 for the 32", I kinda think this is a rip off as I wouldnt have paid R2499 for the 32" had I had an option. As far as Im concerned the deal was that if I buy the 55" for R12999 I would get the 32" for free.

Yep, saw that too - a battle I'll fight if and when the time comes, as I feel exactly the same...

I must say, the remote could do with a dedicated 3D button!!!

Agreed 100%

I watched Avatar 3d Half SBS, the depth was fantastic but the small items that should be popping out just looked fuzzy. Ill try a TB 3D next to test.

Im also watching off a microserver, mine is connected to my AV Receiver and then to the tv. Running XBMC Eden on Windows 7.

Aaaah, there goes that idea! Thanks for pointing it out, I was under the impression it was also passive. Lets hope the techs can sort this out then.

Im more then willing to test out a 55T39 for them, not sure if you get those here tho

Did they leave you with a loan TV while they check your's out?

HiFicorp are sending me another 55t36, yay, they can keep doing that until they get it right.

Whats wrong with the active 3d on the XT710 is there anything esle not to good about the XT710?

The fact that its active is the problem, more ppl suffer from eyestrain/headaches from active 3D then do from passive. If you are happy to go the active route then I think the xt710 will be great, nice and cheap, loaded with features, might suffer the same lightbleed/flashlighting we are getting on the 55T36's. If you get one, let us know.

Umm, expensive glasses for one, and a more fatiguing experience, apparently. For a large household, keeping glasses charged and safe is an issue:)

Hi I went to Dion wired yesterday had a look at the Xt710 and i was not impressed the images didnt seem rich with colour and the screen seemed DUll when a movie was playing could they have it setup incorrectly ?

could they have it setup incorrectly ?
Yes of course, as with any TV in a showroom/store.

Unless you can precisely know the quality/grade of the input signal/content, and state/correctness of settings, you have absolutely no idea whether what you're seeing has any relation to the peak performance of the set.

Hey Sub

What has happened re the backlight bleed? The Hisense guys are collecting mine today, to see if they can sort out the problem at their office. Promised to have it back Thursday. Also offered a credit, and am considering the xt710 upgrade. But only if it's substantially better, and I'm dubious as its also the same tech.

Re 3d post above, I'd imagine it's to do with the source material and path, more than the tv itself. If they are both passive, the only issue that can surely affect the 3d experience is crosstalk???

Well, apparently they couldn't do anything to improve the set. So now it's up to hificorp to supply some swopouts...

Yup, no.3 will be here tomorrow morning, I think i might skip the dark room black pic test this time and just tell myself lightbleed is a myth.

My Harmony 890 decided to start working again today, w00t, its been dead for about 7 months, I was going to strip it down again and test all the caps, but no need, plugged it in and BOOM on it came, i soo heppi.

Pity the 55T36 is not in the harmony DB, was really hoping to create a dedicated 3D button. Will play with it and let you know how it turns out, been a real pain juggling 3 remotes...

TV 3 Came today, I was not available to take delivery on Friday. I must commend HifiCorp for customer service, not once have they made me feel like Im putting them out, they seem to be genuinely concerned about making me happy.
