Hisense 55T36 Owners Thread

I really don't think they can "tune" that out... it is caused by bad alignment of the LEDs - that is why some people loosen the screws on there TVs, etc to effectively make small changes to the alignment!

It seems like edge-lit LED TVs need very precise manufacturing to get the LED alignment right... so the lower cost brands might have a problem with that?

As Greg said, they'd have to loosen the screws or pull some magic with the brightness.

Is there any other brand of TV that even gets close to Hisense's price for a 55inch passive 3D TV?

Not passive, not that I can find, ok, no i lie, House and Home do a JVC 55" FullHD LED 3D Passive box for about R11k, 1 year guarantee was the killer on this set though.

The act allows for 7 days as far as I know.

HifiCorp confirmed 14 days money back guarantee, nice, im going to allow them to change it as many times as they can in that period and if they still cannot get it right then ill take the lot back.

Another no-name brand though that is also a problem. It's weird that you are having these problems with Hisense, they are known to be the better of the cheap TV's

If you do a google, JVC is actually a world-wide brand with plenty of good kit. Thats why the guarantee is 1 year I suppose. Their price is still surprisingly low. In South Africa they are all distributed through the same company who has the rights and we therefore think that they are no-name, but that is not actually the case. The same goes for Telefunken, Sharp etc.

Many of the brands are assembled in the SADC (Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana etc.) as kits., but they are in no way fakes.

Lets not get side tracked now, the focus of this thread is the Hisense 55T36. I will keep posting pics after every service/replacement and keep hoping that they get it right.

It does seem that Hisense has acquired a good name, perhaps im just seriously unlucky.

Got hold of a guy named Trevor from Hisense in Durban, first he said he would be able to see me on MONDAY!!!... I freaked out and gave the "lot of money" speech, then he said he would call me in an hour. So now we wait for 14:00

Also contacted manager at hificorp, and am awaiting a response...

However, I came across this link, which talks about massaging the screen to fix the problem:) Maybe if all else fails, ne?

Who's going first:D
Ian

I read about that as well, also about loosing screws in the back.... I think ill rather just keep returning it until they either get it right or something better comes round. R13k opens you up to quite a few options.
