Hisense Fridges

The Defy and Hisense seem similar prices but the Hisense has lower energy consumption.

3kwh a day? What fridge is? My double door only does 1.5 and I moan about that.
 
Not sure if I'm in the right place. Had my hisense fridge for just over 3 years. For the life of me can't remember what the coldest setting is between 1 and 7. It's a H271BE model, can't find user manual online anywhere

Its a single door KIC from around ~20 years back! I had been waiting to finish building my new house before we replaced it.

Ouch a single door chewing through that much electricity. Most newer ones are something like 200kw a year.
 
I had a KIC for 20+ years which was also on drinks duty. Major drain on the monthly Eskom tab.

What eventually happened with this?

I need a fridge and looked at the local spots, Hisense fridges are pretty closely priced to the Defy option, in some sizes the Hisense has a better version than Defy.

In terms of quality and longevity what is it between Defy, Hisense and KIC, those are the 3 main run of the mill brands I saw everywhere.

I received a call from a technician a day or to later wanting to set up an appointment to look at the fridge. They did some testing and couldn't really find anything wrong other than I set the temp 1 setting too high and turned it down to 3. Part of the problem could also have been the kids don't close the freezer properly leading it to possibly ice up. They said that if I have the same issue again in the month going forward, that must contact Hisense again and they will recommend a replacement fridge. This was noted on the job sheet. Suffice to say, it's been a few months now and no problems so far. All in all very good service from Hisense. I will say this though, the design of the freezer with it's exposed gas pipes is something I will consider against buying a Hisense fridge/freezer again as I am always worried that it might get damaged easier. Only long term will tell though but so far so good.
 
Hi

I have a simple hisense fridge freezer unit. Not a auto defrost unit. I have had it about 7 months. I have noticed the motor seems to make a loud noise every time it turns off(almost a click) I do not remember noticing this sound when the fridge was brand new.

1. Does anyone know if this is normal or if something is faulty.
2. Would hisense come to me to check the fridge under the warranty? It would be very hard to get the fridge back to the shop that it was purchased from.

Hisense fridge owners are you still happy, looking at geting a French Door Frost Free Fridge\Freezer.
 
They appear like good value for money when I was looking at fridges a few months back, also well made, good finish.

Certainly much better quality control than the shty Defy fridge I bought, first one got sent back, 2nd one was better but not great. I wasn't going to go to all the trouble of getting a 3rd so I left it at that but not happy with the finish after spending R5k on the fridge.
