Hisense Q8600 Thread

Hi guys

i have the 65q8600 an i have an issue with the picture settings
it seems to reset for some odd reason

i've tried the all source and current source and also the fast power on setting

seems to help when i put the fast power on to on but then i have an issue with sound

then i turn the fast power on to off and turn the tv off and on, it remembers the settings

when i go to sleep and the next morning it resets itself
weird thing is sometimes only on some inputs like dstv now or youtube
other times only on some settings itself like it will save everything except back-light from 40 will go back to 100
i use the cinema night setting

tried the others as well, same story

anyone got some idea what i can try

running firmware 1127

Any chance of getting the new firmware for the q8600 that is Vida4 enabled?
Reading up on the net and Hisense says update on all models Q1 with Vida4.
Not seeing OTA updates on the device.

Would be very interesting to see if that even started rolling out...

I wouldn't mind VIDAA U3.0 AI which has Google Assistant integration and allows your TV to integrate with the Google Home app for voice controls. They had this in Aus from over 2 years ago:

Why is there no live channels (news) on Showmax on my Hisense Q8600?. It is a fairly new tv and updated to the latest firmware. The Showmax app was of course pre-installed. On the LIT box also connected to the same setup I can watch news channels on Showmax. So every time I want to watch say SABC news or CNN I have to switch to the LIT Box. ?

What's the verdict on these for gaming? I'm after a decent panel to replace my 6 year old Samsung and not interested in any smart features as I have an HTPC.

Does not look like use same VA lcd panel, as native contrast 5000:1 on q8600 vs h9f 6000:1 . All Q8600 specs per middle east spec links below, as za sites do not show all details, but very likely the same as Za model.

Smooth motion rate also 200 vs 480 on h9f & vida os vs android on h9f
Local dimming zone nr’s & nits brightness specs are the same

I have 55” q8600 used with appletv 4k for streaming & uhd bluray player. Very happy with mine with only small gripe that hdmi cec that does not turn off tv when turn off other devices. Control over hdmi is however finicky on several other devices

I have just bought an Xbox One X and need a 4K TV. I am super tempted to pickup this TV, with an eye on the Series X. I know that this unit doesn't have HDMI2.1 and is obviously not as good as the LGC9, but it costs 10k less and is 65" versus the 55C9 for R25k.

anything you guys can add that will help me make up my mind ?

I can finally answer this question. Had a 55" Q8600 in Feb and returned it as my unit had terrible vignetting ( think I lost the panel lottery there). Overall the picture quality was good when gaming on my Xbox One x, but nothing to write home about. If someone is upgrading from an old tv and this is their first TV that has HDR then they definitely wont be disappointed if they get a good unit.

On to the C9. Mine C9 got delivered on Thursday and I have been using it since. Colours and contrast on the C9 are amazing and HDR is freaking awesome! Honestly you cannot compare the picture quality between the two TV's. The only negative is the brightness as I cannot have my blinds and curtains fully open during the day and watch TV, but I think that's obvious. If you can spend the extra $$$ for the C9 then I say.. GO FOR IT! One aesthetic downside of it though is because the stand is so low,<4cm , you cannot place a sound bar infront of the tv as it will block a some of the lower screen ( I'm not sure if there are sound bars that are less than 4cm high)

On a side note, I have owned quite TV's over the past 2 years, namely the Hisense 55A6100, 55A6500 , Q8600 as mentioned above, Samsung 55NU7100 , LG 49UJ620V and so far, the best value for money TV from all of these in my opinion has to be the 55A6500.
