Hisense Q8600 Thread

Thanks for the replies. I think I will send this one back and try again, this time the 65inch.

How did the unboxed deal work? Is it in the original box just, opened?

Unboxed deals are unpredictable. Mine, everything was boxed with an untouched TV and accessories. The package cushion (white form material) on top had a slight tear on one side.

@alqassam

Thanks for the replies.

I have tried both internal and external sources. Like I said, the TV is detecting and playing (And showing the logo for) the Atmos, but not passing it to the soundbar. (Soundbar only getting Dolby Surround)
If I connect the external source (PC) directly to the soundbar, it gets the Atmos. But then for some reason, the soundbar is struggling to send the video signals to the TV. (Display has weird colors and motion is juttery.)

So in summary PC -> TV -> Soundbar (Good visuals, but no Atmos on the soundbar)
PC ->Soundbar -> TV (Atmos on soundbar, but bad visuals on TV)

Even if I could get the visuals correct on the TV from the soundbar, I need more than one hdmi input, so would like to make the TV the main input, and have it send audio to soundbar.

If the TV does not have eARC (But only ARC) that is the issue of why I am not getting Atmos from TV to Soundbar I guess.
Did you ever get this right? Mine suddenly came right after restarting the TV, switching to Speakers settings to Dolby and then opening the built in Netflix app. Suddenly my amp displayed that it was receiving a Dolby signal, pass through now works from the PC and my PS4 is allowing Bitstream Dolby to be decoded correctly.

My TV amp is weird.

Before sound works on Netflix, I have to open the TV YouTube app play a video, it then sends activates the arc and I can then open Netflix.

My Xbox and TV box is connected directly to the amp

The older TV has been boxed already. Old TV was like 70% of this guy's TV.

My Phone not doing it justice. But the whites are just pure.

Congrats! 65" is the way to go now!

Bought another 65Q8600 unboxed deal on Takealot for R13K. Arrived yesterday. I'm shocked by how the screen is almost perfect compared with my first buy. Not even a bit of vignetting. White backgrounds appear white, even on the sides and corners . Guess I won the LED Panel Lottery.

Looking at the picture you posted, there is clearly vignetting which can be seen in the top corners of the tv. However bottom of the TV seems to be better than the units I've had before. How in the uniformity if the screen? Can you take a pic of the youtube app when it starts with the logo as I know that the background is greyish which is normally shows uniformity of the panel.

Does anybody know of any stores that still has has either the 65Q8000 or the 65Q8600 in stock in Durban?

Like I said above, my phone will not show what the naked eye sees. Tried a video but failed miserably.

At this point your best bet might be Takealot, but the 65Q8600 is now R16999. They don’t seem to carry the B8000. PnP Hyper might have the 65B8000.

Thanks Ryno. I have looked at all the other major retailers and PnP Hyper never crossed my mind. Will check them out.

Hi bought a 55Q8600 on takealot and the panel was absolutely amazing. Dolby vision is beyond brilliant! But I returned it after 20 days because of the motion issues. I couldn't stand the stuttering every so often.

From my use, I think it only handled Dolby Vision Netflix content smoothly.

I used the apps on the unit DSTV Now, Prime Video (Only got HDR), Netflix (Dolby Vision)

I used a FireTV gen 2 that has 4K available.

PC with windows 4K@60hz + HDR. Couldn't really find a game for it, ended up playing some Witcher 3 at 1080p, it felt great.

Everything juddered and bounced up and down constantly giving me headaches. (Smoothing OFF)

The smoothing features didn't help either, it stays smooth for a few seconds and then I get a frameskip or a face blending together into a thin line.

Peoples hands irritated me the most when someone moves there hands while talking it looked as though it was a streak of light moving and not arm and hands individually.

I returned the unit and just now received the 55U7WF.

My dreaded motion issues feel resolved, with all the smoothing off I can see clearly and it feels "normal".

I can concur that there is black crush it does NOT go as bright as the Q8600 and HDR and Dolby Vision is not really Wow as it was with the Q8600.

I'm not really happy yet with my purchase.

Does anyone else have the crazy motion problems I experienced? I'm tempted to try the lottery again with the Q8600

:crying: I'm not even sure if the motion is a per panel thing. And how do I go back to mediocre colour after it.
I know what you are referring to as the native DStv now app shows extreme judder. I found it extremely annoying and absolutely hate the soap opera effect... I don't have that experience when watching the native Netflix or YouTube apps however... Or at least it's not visible to me... But the solution for that was just to watch DStv now off my Mibox. It plays perfectly smooth without any motion effects on. The native DStv app is clearer though, but I sacrifice the clarity for the smoothness of the picture by watching it from the Mibox instead. I experience zero judder when watching any content from the Mibox. I personally believe it has alot to do with the input framerate of the content you are watching... It's the only thing that makes sense about how the native DStv now judders but the DStv now on the Mibox plays smoothly under the same settings. (Mibox is inputted at 4k resolution)

Also worth noting, when watching DStv using an actual dstv decoder (Xplorer) there's no such judder, from the little I remember watching.

I see a Samsung q80r 65 inch for R19 999
In the stax link. That's a bargain if anyone is looking

The link to the tv doesn’t work. Looks like they sold out. Did They have stock when you checked? Price is too good to be true though. Even the recent blue tag sale didn’t have the tv priced that low. The RU7100 is also listed as R19 999

Yes I see it's not working now. Was active when I checked just before posting above

Who knows anything about the vidaa 4.0 software. Is it coming to the q8600? ..

I have noticed an issue with audio sync when using the native Netflix App on the Q8600. I've set my speakers audio output to ARC (Denon Receiver) with audio out to passthrough. When playing Netflix Dolby Atmos content there is a big audio delay . If I set audio output to any other format i.e. PCM or Dolby digital the delay goes away. Can anyone confirm if this fixed in the J1127 firmware?
