Hisense Q8600 Thread

@Hisense SA still hasn't fixed my hdmi1 port on the board claiming the clip on the optical port is broken so it's abuse.

Logged another service call through the retailer but cannot wait indefinitely for it to be repaired.

AV receiver now connected to HDMI 2 but still picks up as arc but arc doesn't work. The TV then does not output any audio on the standard apps until I go to sound menu and switch to TV speakers manually.

This is not a wife/kid friendly option.

All media by me is consumed through the amp and Xbox one

Oh yeah, I quoted bad.
A reason a warranty claim get disputed for HDMI port 1

It doesn't have it. I had the standard new hisense tvs for a while and it had the option in the menu where game mode is.

With that tv it made the brightness so low it was basically a black screen with it on.
Thanks for clarifying Rusting

Had another freeze up today. TV totally unresponsive. Was on YouTube and video loading circle just spun around. Tried to get into source menu to select HDMI but nothing. That also froze up and I had to unplug TV. Nothing wrong with WiFi as other devices were tested and working at the time.

Did start thread directed at @Hisense SA rep about two weeks ago mentioning this issue but no response on matter as yet.

Not filling me with confidence 11 months into life of TV must be honest. My second unit as well.

Hi. Can anyone confirm the latest software for 55Q8600 and how do you install it via USB?

I heard that you need to do something with the file on a USB.

Lastly is there any improvements upgrading from J114?

I have noticed an issue with audio sync when using the native Netflix App on the Q8600. I've set my speakers audio output to ARC (Denon Receiver) with audio out to passthrough. When playing Netflix Dolby Atmos content there is a big audio delay . If I set audio output to any other format i.e. PCM or Dolby digital the delay goes away. Can anyone confirm if this fixed in the J1127 firmware?
I just got my 4k Denon receiver and have the exact same issue. I hope this is solved further down this thread line!

You would think so but receiver shows an atmos signal when playing supported Netflix content and Dolby Digital plus for everything else I.e. YouTube and non atmos Netflix. Try it out. I’m not sure if that is the intended operation for the firmware. Just glad it’s working.
Problem is i cant hear my back surround channels actually playing audio. If i set to passthrough its def playing native 5.1 surround sound (but with a massive audio delay), and if i set my tv to Dolby Digital Plus i think its just PCM stereo coming through.

Also, in order to get the Netflix App to manually be in sync, set your tv audio delay to max (25) and the denon receiver audio delay to 500ms (also max) that fixes the audio sync issue when using passthrough. The only issue now is... all other content used through ARC like youtube will be out of sync...

When I set my tv digital audio out to Dolby Digital plus the receiver shows that it is processing an Atmos signal. I have found that it does not always work and it sometimes shows as DD+ Dolby digital surround on the display. This sounds horrible like a stereo signal. To fix make sure tv fast power on is off. Power off the TV. Power back on and go back into Netflix and try again. It should show Atmos on the receiver display when playing Atmos content. Another annoying bug with full power off is it looses all your changes you made to the Dolby Vision picture settings. For example I reduce sharpness on Dolby Vision Bright and adjust ultra smooth motion. They all reset back to factory settings. I hope Hisense fix this.

If you want to be happy with a Hisense TV, get an android TV Box. Vidaa is beyond a joke.

Agreed, but that wouldn't really help with interface problems, HDR processing/settings etc. Atleast it would solve app-related issues.

Is 4K HDR on an android box via HDMI easy to achieve these days? Getting 4K HDR @4:4:4 60Hz is a struggle with my PC.

I watch 4k HDR @4:4:4 without issues using the Mibox
