I bought my tv from a Hisense sale. As it was a demo there was no remote. I bought an all for one universal remote from takealot. Been working 100% fine for my use case. One thing i kinda don't like and where Hisense saved money on this tv. The tv remote, can we buy a better remote and where?

The 8600?Is there a firmware update for the TV.
Noticed it updated, but it seems like the VIDAA updated.
What changes are there for the TV's firmware update
Whats your new sw version?
Do you mean Dolby Atmos ?I can't even use the built in apps anymore because hdmi1 doesn't work therefore arc doesn't work.
So have basically lost out on Dolby vision
No native Dolby vision on TV apps and Dolby Atmos through arc.Do you mean Dolby Atmos ?
How is no Dolby Vision on the built in apps linked to HDMI 1? I thought that you would just lose Dolby Atmos because of ARC not being available. No native Dolby vision on TV apps and Dolby Atmos through arc.
They call me now to say repair will be fine in warranty by end of the week. Let's see what happens.
Your initial post was stated " I can't even use the built in apps anymore because hdmi1 doesn't work therefore arc doesn't work. So have basically lost out on Dolby vision"Because I cant use my av equipment sonwahts the point of watching Dolby vision without my full Atmos setup
If it's new out the box there should be 1 update it'll pick up immediately. If you look around the thread there's a 2nd one that must be installed manually. Is there a firmware update for the TV.

So you can watch DV content, it will just look great and sound kak. But then by that same logic, anything including non-DV content will also look good and sound kak. So you're saying your entire TV is now useless, not just DV. Right? The point is I can't watch DV content using TV speakers. There is zero point to that. So the function is basically useless as everything needs to run through the receivr
Well I have to use an android box which only gives hdr10So you can watch DV content, it will just look great and sound kak. But then by that same logic, anything including non-DV content will also look good and sound kak. So you're saying your entire TV is now useless, not just DV. Right?
The Q8600 has Optical, Aux and Bluetooth as well. Can you not connect to your receiver via any of those IF YOUR TV SPEAKERS ARE USELESS?The point is I can't watch DV content using TV speakers.
