Hisense Q8600 Thread

I have two 55 inches one on 1127 and the other 1114 ... Neither received the update
I have the 65" and manually updated to 1127, but now I am starting to wonder if manually updating may have stopped me from getting the OTA. Looks like a staged rollout though, so I will wait a week or two and if nothing has happened by then I will try to contact Hisense for a new update file.

Q8600 on 1127 and no update. Tried to roll back to previous firmware and it doesn't allow me to

Have you guys tried to install the update you can download from HiSense web-site?

Guessing they are doing this the amateur way and not making it available in any way other than OTA.

I emailed support and received a response from Jurgen at Hisense.

Apparently, the "K" firmware is newer than the "J" firmware. I asked for a link to the firmware, and if it was possible to get a changelog, and was told that unless I'm having issues I shouldn't worry about upgrading.

I've asked again for the "K" firmware link, but I'm not holding my breath.

Klomp kak. The usual response from support to hide the fact that they just don't know.

Tell Jurgen to at least try do his job properly.

HDMI 1 on TV and HDMI out with arc on the receiver.

Activated arc on the reciever and TV activated and enhanced HDMI used.

Got a new 18.6gbs cable yesterday as well. Hoping firmware might fix the handshake issue.

Does ARC not work at all for you?

Mine worked on the shipped firmware, using a 6 year old HDMI cable and without enabling Enhanced HDMI.

Hi all.

I have the 65 Q8600 and after going through this thread what I will say is this is an awesome bang for buck TV. Comparing to the Panasonic 65inch we have in the house and my mates 65 LG nanocell, they cannot touch this tv.

Quick question though, I see some debate on the gaming at 120Hz at a lower framer ate. Is it possible to game at 1440P or 1080p at a framerate higher than 60Hz? Realistically I wouldn't be ultra disappointed as this tv cost me under 16K. If I paid 30k for a TV I would expect it to run 4k at 120Hz. Can anyone provide clarity on this and their gaming experience in general on this tv?

No HDMI 2.1 so I don't think you can play at 120ghz.

The TV doesn't actually support native 120Hz. It can read the signal but not accurately produce it.

It can only produce a 60Hz signal.

Was kinda false advertising on Hisenses's part.

Hi fellas Cc @dhirennaidoo , the Q8600 K110 firmware upgrade for those who need it: https://we.tl/t-CSj53UvR8L
Transfer the binary file to a FAT32 formatted flash drive and head to settings/support/update via USB, reboot and patience. You might wanna do a factory restore after as well
Thanks @NdimzDJ
Nice to have it on hand in case the update isn't pushed via OTA for those who have J1127.

Did HisenseSA send you the file?

Thank you very much, I mailed Hisense support but they have not sent anything back. I just installed the update and it has fixed my Dolby Atmos using Dolby Digital Plus!

You get a flippen Noddy badge!

Downloading now, will upload and update first post.

So, judging by the filename this was compiled, at least, in November. Why the wait from Hisense...

Spoke to a great guy there, didn't hesitate to send the file or bother with the usual machine like questions. Few things I have noticed so far: Improved brightness overall, Atmos-Passthrough fixed, stable Dstv Now and some few new unknown apps)

Interestingly I didn't do the K update when it appeared on my set for download.

It now doesn't indicate that there's an update out. Guess I'll have to do it manually now via USB

Has anyone on 1127 manually updated to K? My TV tells me the installed version (1127) is the latest version and will not update.

**No - Ignore me. Seems to be updating fine.
