So does anyone have this....is it useful?
My BMW motor plan has run its course and dont think the 20k quote igot for 2 yrs or 20000km is reasonable
I am also interested in this, any quotes did you receive?

Third party extended warranties normally specify cover as follows per incident:
Rx : engine repairs
Ry : gearbox repairs
Rz : suspension repairs
...etc
Where they will cover up to a certain Rand value of the repairs.
Usually this is not enough to replace an engine, gearbox, etc but enough to make small to medium sized repairs.
There would be different grades of extended warranty with varying levels of cover.
These don't include any regular servicing, these you will have to pay for and will have to show that your service book is stamped by the dealer for all its services before being allowed to claim.
Where as the manufacture's extended warranty will cover repairs 100% as did the original warranty.
Now you are talking of Motor plan which means they include the service and service items and factory warranty, ie: everything except fuel and tyres.
