Decided to take my E220 modem for a spin... and now my iBurst modem looks a bit slow @ 1Mbps. :)

Very impressive software - will have to phone iBurst and cancel my subscription?

Decisions, decisions...

That 3.6Mbps doesn't mean you are connected at that speed. The E220 is capable of such speed and that is why they use 3.6Mbps setup but currently you won't get it.

N73 , 3G , Lansdowne , Cape Town , fastest speed reached, downloading 8.1kb/s

We'll only have 3.6 later in the year

LOL... I see the modem has a Vodacom profile that it connects to (HUAWEI3G.Vodacom)!

But I'm using a MTN simcard?

strange! im further away and i get normal d/l speeds on average of 16kb/s. using morpheus i get round 110-150kb/s

I've got full signal and I'm in Hydepark and my top so far is 201,5 Kbps

Not good at all

I take it those speeds refer to when you using EDGE, if not then it is slow, if so then its actually not bad at all since EDGE connects at roughly 236kbps but i dont get edge anymore cos strangely enough all i pick up is HSDPA and with a p2p program and an average signal of 35-59% i can download about 1MB every 10s.

201.5Kbps equats to about 1.15MB/minute

the most I got on "hsdpa" on MTN was 90kb/s and edge was 30-40kb/s. I hope when I do get my Yagi it would improve

well i used the test software that ginggs had so kindly provided and tested the db gain on the card with teh aerial- it was on the dot 4db, signal went up by about 200kb/s so i wasnt complaining:)
