How'd you do the basics OTA?

The Slamphers were the easiest to do OTA.

I used the sonota.py script. Pressed the button until it started flashing fast, connected to the ITLEAD-xxx AP, flashed the initial file, then switched to FinalStage.
I think my versions were 1.56 or 1.57 higher than that and you have issues.

I upgraded this morning, mainly to sort out the google-location part. busy writing my Alexa interface, and then will start with a wall mounted tablet to control all, was planning to let the tablet double up as a picture display and only when going out of this 'screen-saver' mode, will the Home-assistant display show.
Still a bit of development to go.

And just like that my home-assistant has started locking up again... been working fine for two weeks.

Welll... my Pi has just arrived so I have an evening of setting that up and then waiting impatiently for the flashed Basics to arrive so I can tangle everything together and do some testing before stashing it in the roof.

Looks like the issue is with the SQLite database access - going to guess its related to the upgrade.

Interesting... do you run a separate SQLite DB?

Nope - but this is the error:
Error in database connectivity: (sqlite3.OperationalError) unable to open database file (Background on this error at: http://sqlalche.me/e/e3q8). (retrying in 3 seconds)
11:39 AM components/recorder/__init__.py (ERROR)

Can't get much out of the system - can't even connect via SSH - will check when I get home.

This is a reminder that I need to get automated backups going ASAP

Yeah, I'm getting close to the point where I want to start using git and doing changes some deployment tool. Then the other day my wife asked me about DR for the stuff if something goes wrong..

Talk about taking your work home with you.

Your wife knows about DR?

She's a total keeper son....

Let us know about your automated backup solution though xrapidx.... will def need something like that myself soon.. I start setting up the Pi tonight, and the Basics should arrive tomorrow to get added to the mix over the next week or so.

Did they update the Google Location sharing? When it works its pretty great but until they upgrade to the new version of the underlying It breaks too often.

Oh no. Did the community confirm that there’s an issue and should I avoid upgrading?

So my next project just presented itself.
Aircon in the bedroom has stopped heating, so need to resort to the underfloor heating, which is rather expensive to run.
Two TH16s plus temp probes ordered, which together with HomeAssistant will prevent running the heating when there's no-one home, or during the day, or when it's warm enough in the room :D

And all your th16s...

Actually just stole the last one from stock for myself :p

I have a wall panel heater that needs some taming - fortunately I have an oversupply of the AM2301 sensors (which are almost as good).

I suppose you could always daisy chain them.
So inelegant.
I'd consider customising a pow to fit a temp sensor too, but there are too many dire warnings about the pow gpio pins being connected to mains
