Anyone every figure out how to get a pow to provide power readings after tasmota? There was talk of power factor. Mine is still just a big dumb basic.

Does anybody have suggestions for a good outdoor water proof enclosure for a Sonoff basic?

I have a security light that I want to connect to it but it is really difficult to get into the roof, so I'm thinking putting the Sonoff outdoor next to it in some sort of an enclosure.

Did they update the Google Location sharing? When it works its pretty great but until they upgrade to the new version of the underlying It breaks too often.

/snip
Yep, it is updated, They corrected the issue of the person.id being blank as well as it does not lock the Google maps with an "I'm not a robot" capture.

Edit- The captcha still pops up. I will most probably change the time to every 5 minutes instead of the default which I think is either 5 seconds or 30 seconds.

Smart kit sell an enclosure for like 150 bucks or something.

Oh no. Did the community confirm that there’s an issue and should I avoid upgrading?

Think its something on my side - not the upgrade. Hard reboot worked.

First step - new SD card.

Let us know about your automated backup solution though xrapidx.... will def need something like that myself soon.. I start setting up the Pi tonight, and the Basics should arrive tomorrow to get added to the mix over the next week or so.

Definitely going to do something this weekend, I'll probably give up if I have to start from scratch again :p

So got homeassistant up and running last night on the Pi.... that was the easy part...

It was late so my brain was not functioning but I couldn't get Homeassistant Control Panel to work... following the guide on their page did nothing, kept saying it couldn't connect to the Home Assistant server... I'm clearly being daft, but hey....

My basics have arrived so a bit of tinkering tonight to see if I can run 3 basics off a standard 3 way switch... *holding thumbs*

Oh yes, tried that - wasn't too impressed.

Hmmmm well i'll keep it on the backburner for now... have to see if my idea will work first, if it does then I can roll out automation across all the lights in the house and the missus will still be "happy"

The easiest determination is if she doesn't notice things have changed :p

Oh things have changed... i've practically gutted the house, and am now putting it back together :)

Phaktza, the iFan02 looks like an interesting product actually.... might invest in 2 or 3 of them eventually...

I was just thinking that Sonoff should really do a ceiling fan controller thing next... Would be nice if it had a temp sensor integrated somehow, my current remotes measure the temp at the remote and then increase/decrease fan speed. Would love to get these just to make sure fans are turned off when left on etc, and of course they must be usable over MQTT.

I wonder if its possible to setup a second Pi as a roll-over incase one goes down with the home-automation stuff... real inconvenience if it happens when you're away.

IFTTT with a TH16?
