Home Automation - Smartkit

Hi all. I'm looking at trying my hand at Home Assistant and setting up a few sensors. My first goal is security, so motion sensors/door sensors, a siren, and then a camera. What has the experience been like with the Sonoff sensors? Do they have issues of going offline with HA, or have problems with interference or sensitivity?

I've also looked at Xiaomi (ZigBee) and Z-Wave based sensors, but they're quite a bit more expensive when you throw in the required bridge/hub as well, and also seem to be hard to find to purchase.

My main concern is stability. So if Sonoff won't really do the job, then I'll look to spend more for the other options listed.

Thanks!

I've got one 1-gang and one 3-gang left - everything else sold before arrival. We have another order arriving in about 1-2 weeks.

EDIT: And yes, same day in Gauteng if ordered before 10am.

Woah that was quick. Looks like they may be even more popular than the basics.

Given that they slot into the existing lighting holes in most peoples walls, I can see why... its an easy Neutral drop in and then you have the makings of a smarthome....

Insane, think I just sold the last of the stock - I've had it for one day.

EDIT: I now have 6 on backorder

Soon I'll see if all the complaints about ewelink is justified and all the tinkering I've been reading on here is worth going down.
Hoping that it just works, but...nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

Want to get it working with my Google Home.

Edit: I had a massively blond moment (with myself at least) trying to figure out how I would switch the lights on if my power went out - since my router and wifi would be off. Started looking at UPS and Solar options for my router/switch/AP... after about 30 minutes realised...wait... if my power is off why/how the feck would I try switch a light on...there's no power.
