Why not just buy a large Hager surface mount board... Will save you lots of time and effort and look better as well.

I have a 36 way hager surface mount in my house... And it was around r1000 and it looks decent and is actually nice to work with.
 
I built an Arduino hot water management system
There are 3 heat sources, a solar water heater, a Daikin heat pump and the geyser element
The solar circulates automatically since the geyser is above the panels
The computer switches on the heat pump at different times at different months of the year
If the water is below 35 deg at 15h00, it turns on the geyser for 2 hours
The geyser can also be over-ridden to select on times of 1, 2 or 3 hours
Its controlled by a 5 inch touch screen
The total cost was under R1300 including the relays
 
Quick question, for a Sonoff SV to be powered by a Centurion D5 gate motor battery, where do I connect the SV to? Directly to the battery or somewhere on the motors logic board? I'm not great at electronics so someone is gonna need to help me and tell me where exactly it gets power from.
 
Specifically it's the hager vector... I might actually have a 54 way ve318....
 
Definitely a better looking board than the usual, but its R1932 including vat at electro mechanica.
 
Then look at the 36 way version... Will be more than big enough... Ve312 I think it was.

Best to find the manual for the specific motor and see if it has any 5-24v output.

Otherwise the battery would also be just fine.
 
For those with Home Assistant and Yeelights be informed that as of HA 90.1 it now uses its own component and no longer the lights component.

Which means if you don’t do the small configuration change all your Yeelight will go missing upon updating.

Allegedly this was documented and informed....I saw none of it in any logical place and so had to log an issue.

So I'm guessing the + and - terminals for power (not input on the SV, I've already bridged those 2) goes to Aux 12V Out and Common? Does it matter which one goes where?

Also, the Outputs on the SV goes to Common and Trg?

Yup just use that if it’s available.

And yes + / - matters very much so make sure you have that right.

Connected to the two lower pins with the header already in place if you hold the board with input left and output right.

Assuming you removed the two resistors already as well.

Yup, resistors removed.

PS. I actually did the garage door yesterday and it works great, can open it which on WiFi and while away from home using wireguard.

Only difference there is I used an old DV power adaptor and soldered on a DuPont connector.
 
So here's an interesting issue.

After installing my cloud server I've been having problems with sonoff.

First my lounge lamp disappeared off the app.

Eventually got it back but now it ignores its programed off time? And it doesn't to respond to commands via Alexa?

This morning when I asked Alexa to switch on the jojo pump Alexa acknowledged the command but the pump did not come on? Pump works with manual on /off

So is there an issue with the sonoff servers or do I have a conflict between my cloud server and sonoff server?

Yup, resistors removed.

No no no.

+ goes to + otherwise you’ll have an alright spark, possibly a fire and potentially a dead SV.

This was in the release notes and discussed on the podcast which I read before the upgrade and modified my configuration before I upgraded. Had no issues whatsoever :)
