I think I fried the SV. Connected to fence and forgot to remove the 2 resistors.

Fence fuse went pop and sonoff only shows a red LED when given power

Not that I am aware of. Got it from Banggood for R195. There is Sonoff/eWelink add-on in Home Assistant so all my switches run on my LAN with original firmware.

Eish ... way more expensive than R185 now. In fact with shipping, its madness iirc


Hmm ... apologies. Checked and although more expensive than R185, with shipping from Banggood AND transmitter, seems cheaper than local pricing.

But local means support and speedier arrival and about same price if only the switch.

Quite a big price difference between the two

Is gearify a local shop or one of those drop shippers where you order from them and then they order from China and we wait ? Anyone used them before ?

Think one is with additional light switch (edit its a Black RF Transmitter)

Hello folks,

Would appreciate if anyone who is using Sonoff SV to control garage door and gate, could share pics of how/where you installed the magnetic switch to tell is gate/door is open or closed?

And to be 100% sure, those magnetic switches you find for on windows and doors for alarm systems will do the job? If not , link to the right stuff on online store?

Not intending to be lazy, but finding the posts including search is a mission with results not being useful. Really, wonder why the MyBB app on phone, doesn't have feature to save posts as favourite, so you can refer back to them when you need it . This thread has too many good posts which meet this criteria.

Bought jumper wires, soldering iron, pcb components... all ready for my new projects
And there's no ftdi adapters available anywhere... sad.

I don't know exactly what to look for, but the one's I'm sure will work all seem sold out at major places.
 
The Sonoff remotes, are they all the same frequency? Or can I order two, and have each do separate tasks.

You still have to pair the remote. Tasmota also support pairing rf remote with capable sonoffs . So you can order 2. Think they do have more than 1 button tho.

I put mine on the top centre of the door, close to the track.

The door first pulls horizontally and then vertically when opening.
