Hi guys, first time posting here in need of a bit of information, currently looking into new ISP options and my choices I've got narrowed down to is Cool Ideas and Home Connect, I was wondering if anyone in Durban knows the kinds of connection I would get to and EU server and Middle Eastern servers, due to the fact that in some games you get good connection (135ms) to those middle eastern servers, was just curious as to what the connection Quality would be like well more specifically ping would be to firstly and EU server and then Middle Eastern on Home Connect from Durban, any information would be greatly apreciated.

Lol also came here to ask about Home-Connect ISP. Never heard of them before...

A friend of mine in JHB uses them but you never know the difference going from city to city hey so I just thought I'd ask and make sure they are actually good, otherwise I'll be going with my first choice of Cool Ideas.

And I'm wondering from a CPT perspective, haha. Probably best to go with CI though..

I'm also on Home Connect, they're amazing (for me) and i've never been happier.
I'm not in durban though so i can't comment on latencies from there.

If i go by a friend's experience then i can suggest looking at @websquadza as another solid option. If you have the game server IPs then you can also use their looking glass to test latencies from JHB, durban or capetown.

I was actually looking into web squad as well, thanks for the reply appreciate it, will have to see the kind of connection quality I'll get on that, will try and grab some of the game server IP's and use the looking glass to test for the latencies, my sister was also wanting to try her hand at streaming some of her crafts and things like that on twitch, and it just makes life so much easier not having to use an injest server and just stream directly through stream elements or something similar, but yeah long story short, I'll have a look into WebSquad as well, thank you :)

You will not get any support from Home-Connect.

Rather go with Websquad.
Thanks for the reply @Diesel44 I think I've made my choice after an awesome tech phone call I had with one of the guys @websquadza , will be ordering my service from them closer to the middle of the month to minimize downtime when my current ISP releases control of my line and they can take over straight away, thanks to everyone who replied and helped me with very useful information.

Just a caution to anyone that is on Home-Connect, they have rather unscrupulous practices. They do not email your invoices and have them stored on their online portal. You trust your service providers to be legitimate especially a company as big as Cipherwave. Since working from home and really making use of bandwidth, I queried my line speed after having connectivity issues and discovered that Home-Connect was incorrectly billing me for a higher speed line but providing a lower speed. I have escalated this to the Home-Connect MD as their service desk is unhelpful.

Huh? you're telling me you don't get this type of email every month? not even in your spams or anything

Seems like it might be luck of the draw with Home-Connect but their service desk was extremely helpful with me when i was facing constant disconnects and when i queried about my speeds not being upgraded in the given 48h time frame.

Nope not a single statement. They finally admitted yesterday after escalation to their CEO that they billed me incorrectly for 15 months. Took a year for them to admit it.

I'm on Home-Connect 200/200 on Vumatel for over a year now. Never had service issues and things were always handled promptly.
