So I got the below SMS the other day, and based on the below thread seems that Home-connect is running on Afrihost network now.
Anyone else got a similar SMS or had there static changed? there has been date or further communication, I've been checking periodically but my IP hasn't changed yet.
I know its going to happen when I need it and I wasn't aware it had changed.

"Dear valued customer, kindly note that Home-Connect is going through a network migration to a new service provider, this will require our static IP addresses to change. Home-Connect will be issuing a new static IP address to you. Should you encounter any issue, please contact us. Kind Regards, Home-Connect"

Hi.

Yes, the network migration is in progress. We will share Network solutions just like with Axxess. The team started off with the smaller FNOs; it should be complete before the end of May. You can contact Home-Connect should you have further questions.

Hopefully Home-Connect will also soon be represented on this page.
I'm on Frog-Foot so assuming thats one of the larger FNOs list.

Hello.

Unfortunately, I cannot confirm the availability of IPv6 with HC. @AfriNatic might know

Since this weekend I've noticed that some websites are not loading via HC - FF as well as slow speeds.

I just get "Can't reach this page" - Strange thing Tho is that I can resolve the IP/DNS name from my PC

I see acquired DNS has been changed to Afrihost.

@Afrigirl @AfriGuy Is infrastructure being merged? I have not received any communication from HC, which is strange.

out of interest, do you now have a AH IP address? do you now get the AH caches?

Also noticed none of my IPSec Tunnels via FF back to Work HQ FortiGate's have come back online. Both tunnels sit on negotiations all time. This is quite frustrating

Must check if you are being CGNatted.

always been behind CGNAT even before the "migration" with NAT traversal. There just seems to be more hops now than before. Logged ticket with HC so lets see what they say

HC CGNAT Traversal iniator> HQ Static public IP responder

I had one of my fibre lines with HC years ago and they had better routing (lower pings, less hops) than AH, at least from CPT. So if they're just bumping you onto the AH network it's going to be worse.

Was still the case up until last year as well when i was with them.

Network was just a great bit better than AH, this network merger is just gonna make their network worse.
Only good thing i can think coming out of it is enabling IPv6, which HC never did.

Hi

no problem, I will wait to hear but will make a nice upgrade if it is possible.

Yes we will allow it but after the migration is done. For now the focus is on the migration and then optimising after that. Estimate timeline is about 2 months for IPv6 to be fully functional for Home-Connect clients. We will likely allocate prefixes from our existing allocation as Home-Connect doesn't have any.

Can you please send Afrigirl and me a dm with your Home-Connect ppp username, static IP and the destination IP's you have issues with so we can have a look for you?
