We always used the pre-made pizza bases from Pick 'n Pay

My SU is now disgusted - as we've bought Today's pizza bases, and these definitely are smaller than PnP's bases.

Apart from that it's lekker to make your own pizza - with your own toppings and stuff :D
 
So I gather she made you post HER disgust with Today's pizza bases?

And this is while she's making the pizza? :D

I always buy pre-made bases. I can't be arsed to make me own.

My toppings are:

Ina Paarman's pasta sauce (any variety really)
Bacon ... the whole packet (is the cheapest, but if I have money I'd buy stuff like ham and salami)
Peppers x 1 (green is the cheapest)
Mushrooms ... the whole packet (white button mushrooms are the cheapest)
Chey-eese ... Any cheese that's under R49.00/kg
 
'Todays' pastry is actually one of the best .... and their pre-made pies aren't too bad either when you consider they are among the 'cheaper' choice of pies.
 
Truly home made pizzas are pizzas where you make your own base!
I just prefer a plain Margareta pizza (home made!) with cayne pepper and pine apple.
 
you can also make your own base by buying the dough from Spar.

That dough is also great for cinnamon rolls.

no, it is normally in a clear bag in the frozen foods section. about R6.50 a bag.

roll it out (with a lil bit flour)... bake it for about 20 mins before you put the cheese and other toppings on.

for the cinnamon rolls... do the same... flatten it... then spread your cinnamon and sugar all over (raisins, caramel and icing sugar if you want)... then roll it up... and cut cross section. put the rolled cross sections in a pan and bake how you want... soft or crispy.

drench in icing sugar.

My toppings usually consist of lots of olives, peppadews, mozzarella, Gorgonzola igor, cheddar, peppers, occasionally a bit of chilli, onion and the other half likes pineapple :p It's delicious :D For my brother and his wife I add salami, pepperoni and bacon :p

No, I most certainly did not ask him to post it here...

The PnP NNB ones fit perfectly into our pizza pans, and I like the taste of the paste they put on....although I add a bit extra. Normally the pizzas are so thick, eating with the hands is out of the question, so we use knives and forks. And usually topping consists of whatever we've got, so it varies. A favourite is: tomato, mushrooms, green pepper, pineapple, baked beans, viennas and cheese.
 
just a warning about the Spar dough .... use it asap, it turns very quickly :o
