Good evening friends someone said my threads are always, on the other side I wonder if this thread too is on the other side.

I just want to ask something I have noticed that Honda is not a popular brand. Is the a reason behind that maybe I'm not aware of. Honda SA facebook page has like 16k followers, while a brand like Datsun have like 28k followers. The ain't many Honda cars in our roads, at work I think we got 10 at parking.

Facebook followers isn't a measure of a brands popularity. To determine the popularity you will need to get their sales Figures, and then compare it on a per car basis in the segments they compete in.

The main reason people won't buy Honda is probably pricing.

Yesterday I went to town if I remember correctly I saw about three Honda cars, where I saw others brands I can't remember how many times. And yesterday it was Honda Dream Day it was such a disappointment only few people attended. I do agree Honda is expensive.

Facebook followers/likes is a useless/crappy measure to gauge success of a brand. As stated review the NAAMSA sales figures.

Compare it month on month relative to each respective rival.

According to that, they sold 483 new vehicles in April 2017. Nowhere near Toyota at 7528, but still a healthy amount.

Thank you for the link it seems I was wrong Honda does sell, I checked the sales figures from December 2016. I must say not bad, those figures is it new cars or they count even second hand cars bought at the Honda dealer.

New cars I believe.

Around Rustenburg I must say the ain't many Honda cars on the roads. I can go to CBD and come back without seeing one.

The best up & coming brand in SA ito of sales figures; awards won & newly converted fans is Suzi (Suzuki).

Even Suzuki brand down here is not that popular spotted few swifts there and there. Most popular brands here are Toyota, VW, Ford, Chevrolet (Spark, Aveo , Trailblazer and mini bakkie), Kia, Hyundai, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

Honda, Suzuki, Peugeot, etc you hardly seen them

Lol buddy it's not about what you spot it's what the figures say. Unless you travel vast distances what you spot is but a fraction of what is actually on the road.

I'm telling you on paper the hottest up & coming brand in SA is Suzi. Honda does reasonable well also mostly as they cover a wide spectrum of the market & the brand generally has an excellent reputation.

Yeah I'm not disagreeing with you sir I saw the sale figures I guess I was wrong. Rustenburg is a small town my judgment was based on that.

The most popular hamburger is a MacDonald but it it is not the best.

What is the point of being popular?

More doesn't mean better; maybe it means some people don't know better or perhaps better people know more.

The more you know about less and less, you soon know everything about nothing

This is all very confusing.

I don't get the comments regarding Honda being more expensive. Seems similarly priced to competitors to me.

Regardless - VTEC

How small is Rustenburg for you not to see a single Honda, Are you sure you can positively identify a Honda when you see one?
Hondas are everywhere, not to mention the old Vtecs and I am sure you can even come across the old one sided mirror Hondas in Rusty.

I just asked some of my colleagues most of them think Honda cars are expensive and Honda cars are mostly for older people. That part I don't get never knew the are cars for young and old folks. But that is what they told me.
