I am a bit concerned with some respected people in the gaming community. Some are starting to lean into the narrative that cheating could improve you as a player. Cheat it until you make it speak. I don't like this attitude.

People are also giving the "aim community" too much credence. Sure, the community exists, and they do have high percentage aim members, but they also have many pretenders.

Anyone who thinks that it is okay to cheat in multiplayer games is likely cheating themselves, and possibly not only in games. Unsavoury people.

Why does a pro esports player take a peripheral to an esports event that can be enabled with scripts? I think he uses a ZD Ultimate Legend, and it is a cool controller that isn't expensive. The problem with using this in competitive play is that it can be saved with on-board macros. Sure, this device would have been banned. Whether it was allowed at one point, and not now, isn't the point. Also, programmable peripherals, usually, are exploitable.

ImperialHal and his gaming org should have known better. To go and complain about it on social media isn't a good show.

I’m banned from Fortnite, and all of Epic’s services and games, and I will never cheat or coordinate DDoS attacks (or similar unlawful activities) again.

DDoS could potentially be against the law, pending on the intent. I mean, you can unintentionally, DDoS. I highly doubt that this player will never cheat again. Likely already have a bought account and new IP using Epic's services and games.

It would be absolutely stupid to attempt another DDoS on Epic.
 
Just the other day I was watching on a streaming service where a player cheated without giving two schits. ESP live on-screen, and all. I also read that this is common to view on TikTok. Mainly Fortnite and CoD.

I don't understand these ego boosts at all. I hard avoid a person when I know they are cheating or a crook, or any other miscreant. They aren't healthy to have around.

Absolutely. Why pretend? Sure, I get the monetary aspect of it.

The truth gets out eventually.
 
There are now reports that Logitech's new Pro X2 Superstrike is triggering cheat detection. Now, and I am going to say, it is not the mouse, and this isn't exactly something that is new, HOWEVER, and I will get to that.

Logitech's G HUB allows scripting. I am not even talking macros, I am talking about Lau. There are communities, websites, channels, etc, and even repositories that share these scripts and provide cheatsheets. This isn't limited to Logitech...

Scripting is cheating in this sense. I have observed several players in several games using no recoil scripts. This isn't even what is deemed legit cheating. Ever since brands got themselves involved, it has muddied the waters. Now there are players who are talking out against hackers, but are good with scripting. Uhm???

Now getting back to the Pro X2 Superstrike, it incorporates HITS, which is basically Logitech's rapid trigger implementation. Rapid triggers have been banned in some competitive games. Though this is by large now applicable to games using controllers. When a button (or click) input is registered as being inhuman multiple times, well, good luck.

There are shooters that allow "Snap Tap", rapid trigger, etc. Just don't go too aggressive on it. IMHO, it is a shame to see peripheral brands normalising scripts.

All that said, the Pro X2 Superstrike is still new, and its users still need to get acquainted with it, but some other premium mouse have shown to have superior natural latency or so to speak.

Just sad to see the reviewers support scripting. At least I now know that they were never good.

I don't have anything against haptic, but combining it with scripts is something else. Anti-cheat developers don't know how to deal with this.

Jobst got one thing wrong though: cheating isn't usually limited to an individual within a team. Doesn't he watch tier 2 and 3 esports leagues?

The topic is easily brought up when someone exceeds their own ego, or goes a bit heavy on the booze or so. The problem is, you can't easily talk about what is being said without the evidence. All it is then, is heresy, until proven.

In the CS2 community, cheaters are notoriously, "don't be evil". Yet, you have communities embedded within communities masquerading as themsevles doing raids. By raid, they collectively cheat. Why? Dunno.

There were users who built reporting tools to expedite Overwatch, only to be exposed as cheaters themselves. It is bizarre.

Fixing the game, as with this Squad incident... that is what makes sponsors walk back and not touch your scene at all. Rewarding corruption has real bad consequences.
 
No, Riot Games aren't bricking PCs like the cheaters are making it out to be. They put out a kill order on DMA devices. The one being the highlight is the Heino V2. Go see what those costs... Yeah.

There are Heino 'resellers/dropshippers' here.

I don't like intrusive anti-cheat ware, but it seems to be the only cure at this time.

The companies who make DMA devices will update their models.
 
This is absolute cinema on all social media. Any day cheaters and their cohorts are exposed is a good day. Riot isn't even killing the DMA devices, lol, it is being blocked. Firmware updates will always be the workaround.
