Horizon Zero Dawn (PC) thoughs?

Huh? I played it on PC and it looks and handles great.

I haven't gotten very far, but it's fine on my end as well - I did wait a while until I tried it, due to all the bugs mentioned at launch.

Ran sort of okay on my 1070 @ 1440p, now smooth as butter on the 3070.

Game runs perfect for me. Just install the updates. I have a GTX 1060 6GB.

Just took a look at the benchmark, and at ultra settings, am very limited by my CPU (4790K), compared to the video card.

Tested game with latest 1.10 patch on an i5-4690, 8gb ram, gtx1060 6gb

It runs just fine, had one stutter when I moved into a new area after a quicksave post.

I actually got sucked in and played for 2hrs, great game! I'll continue playing it.

I'll try the patch, but it seems more likely that it's due to low memory on my card.

That said. I still believe it isn't optimized properly. Since the evidence I have that all other new games run fine.

I played it on release, on PC. My PC is a bit old, but played it without issues. 100% completion in a few days.
Seems my old Hardware is better on these this and CP2077, than a lot of the newer Hardware.

Game runs great now after a few patches. Running on a gtx 1060 (6GB), i74770 and 16GB RAM. Definitely helps to have installed on an SSD to reduce stutter and texture streaming limitations.

The game definitely is on the higher side of requirements and the port is not spotless but runs well with custom settings. You should at least try meet the recommended specs for the game to play smoothly and everyone complaining about a bad port on a modern game with below the recomended specs or even the minimum spec's should look at upgrading.

  • MINIMUM:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bits
    • Processor: Intel Core [email protected] or AMD FX [email protected]
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB)
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 100 GB available space
  • RECOMMENDED:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bits
    • Processor: Intel Core [email protected] or Ryzen 5 [email protected]
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB)
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 100 GB available space

There is another option... The dreaded P word.
Well, I'm thinking there is a reason that the best games are now developed for consoles, and then get ported (badly) to PC. It's because the dreaded P word applies to PC's mostly. If not totally.

So well done all you P's - the chickens are now coming home to roost.

Yes, yes, you will mention CP2077. That be an exception, not the rule.

Ahhh, was wondering when you would pitch, quite a spicy conspiracy you got going there.

Doubt a developer would gimp their games on PC just to fk with pirates.

That is totally not what I was saying. Where on earth did you get that from?

What I am postulating, is if you as a game developer spend your time and money on developing a game, where would you prefer to spend your money, time, and, of course, more money on?

A - The market where piracy is very hard to accomplish, and so get rewards for your effort, to actually get a return on your money spent. In other words, consoles.

Or:

B - PC's, where it is a matter of a 5 minute search (if that) to enable pirates to obtain, for free, what you have spent years and millions of dollars on.

I think you are just way over-estimating your PC's capabilities.

Yours vs Minimum specs listed:
i7 2600K. - Minimum recommended
8GB RAM - Minimum recommended
GTX670 2GB - 1 Generation below minimum

Perhaps its not the most optimized game as its a port, but your previous statements are utter rubbish. It looks beautiful with hardware capable of playing it.

All other new games work better and look better.
Sure, the card is not on standard, but otherwise you don't know what you are talking about.
My system works absolutely fine.

Read the thread next time before mounting your high horse.

Your video card will be celebrating it's 9th birthday this year. I think it's probably done a great job, but 2GB VRAM is just insufficient for modern games.

The game may be horribly ported, I don't know, but let's also be fair. Your GPU meets the minimum specs for Minesweeper and Tetris 3D. Modern games are not designed to run well on a 9 year old card. It may work, but it isn't anywhere near ideal.

Nope, this game actually looks damn good.

The tills at PEP Stores have better specs than your "Gaming PC".

Unrealistic expectations = worst game evar

You seem bored. Get a life.
Not everyone has money to spend left and right as they please..
