Hello,

I am currently working on a website that receives around 40k pageviews a month mainly from South Africa. They are currently using around 30GB of storage and 100gb bandwidth transfer a month. Let's Encrypt SSL certificate would also be great. It is a Wordpress website and must handle high loads.

Budget is around R400-R600 a month.

Thoughts?

Oh and currently on Afrihost.. which I am trying to move the client away from ASAP. I believe they on the dedicated server @ R1150 3tb traffic / 12gb ram / 2x 1tb enterprise

Domains.co.za has been my first consideration!

How would an entry cloud server vs a reseller account for 1 website make a difference?

The VM1 should be able to handle that traffic, but for safety I would start with VM2. The difference is it will be a self managed thing so you will be responsible for the server plus cpanel/WHM will add to the cost and you will need more harddrive space.

The re-seller package I think they substitute some of that WHM fees, at a cost since you do not have 100% all the features, but you have everything needed for the above scenario including SSL.

Hi,

Depending on what software licenses you want to add to the cloud server (eg: cpanel, etc) - The cloud server could end up being more expensive than our reseller packages.

The decission on which is better usually comes down to management.

On the Cloud VM, you have full root access and can make whatever server changes you require. You are ultimately responsible for the security and management of the site and VM.

On our Reseller hosting, we take care of all the security & management aspects of the server, including:
- Site backups.
- Malware detection.
- Auto security patching of wordpress without needing to upgrade wordpress.
- Known wordpress exploit protection.

I don't see any problem in handling a site with 40k pageviews a month, we have a number of sites that do 50K pageviews a day.

Regards,
Dave @ Domains.co.za

EDIT: I See Thor beat me to the explanation :)

Now I just need to know.. do you do cpanel to cpanel transfers for free? :) Reseller account is definitely the way to go.. don't really need anything but hosting the site :D

If you have root access to the existing server, then yes we can do a cpanel to cpanel migration for you.
Alternatively if you only reseller or site access, then we will need to take a cpanel backup and move it across.
We can do either of the above for you at no charge.

I will drop you a PM.

Have you spoken to Hetzner?

And it's KonsoleH which is k@k

Heard of CHS? You think myBB manages their site through KonsoleH...
They build out an environment to your needs, manage it, monitor it and back it up.

If you are managing your website runs on a single server which you manage yourself it really isn't as big as you would like to think.
