I apologise if this is in the wrong section or against forum rules:

Hi guys, I need some help urgently. Don't know where to turn.

I have a .co.za domain and hosting at www.hostcow.co.za(I know, I know, you get what you pay for)
After weeks of begging for a statement, I still haven't received anything. My domain expired about 2.5 weeks ago, even though payment is fully up to date.

I've sent roughly 17 e-mails, support tickets, phone calls and Skype messages, all of which go unanswered. I had another company try transfer the expired domain to them and Hostcow instantly refused. I've been without my business e-mail(which is used for first contact) for nearly 3 weeks, heavens knows how much business I have lost, angry clients etc and the owner doesn't even bother responding to e-mails or support tickets.

I've threatened with violence, legal action, killing a ponny, nothing works and I'm still stuck without my website or e-mail.

What can I do? Is there a hosting overlord I can contact to help me out?

Please help!!!

To get it back up and running ... pay Uniforum directly for the domain to get it back up and running, if that was the cause of the suspension. Then short pay your host provider next month by that amount.

Short pay? I'm trying to move my hosting away from them? This is not the first incident and judging by the comments on Hellopeter, won't be the last

Thanks for the advice, I will contact Uniforum quickly

After payment is made, you can try transferring the domain.

Once Uniforum invoiced for the domain, it can't be transferred until it is paid. Let us know if it works.

Also ask a mod to change the name of this thread to something like: "Hostcow.co.za Hosting Nightmare". Then when other people google them they will see this.

I've never heard of Hostcow but looking at your complaint and the others on Hellopeter I can't see how they are still operating.

How did you first hear of them?

Good luck! I hope you get your site back.

Thanks a bunch JayN. I have contacted them.

Solitude - previous company I worked at had a site hosted by them, service is acceptable back then. Now there is no service, not even phones get answered

Hi anco85,

I recommend paying Uniforum directly as suggested by others on this thread, here is the link to their banking details
http://co.za/banking.shtml

Once paid, find a host, signup and initiate a transfer request.
If the transfer request is denied, then use the following form to request a manual over ride by Uniforum SA http://co.za/legal/form_02.pdf

If you need more help or guidance feel free to PM me or update this thread

Thanks server. I have sent Uniforum an e-mail to request info(amounts etc)
I already have a new hosting company lined up, they have also tried contacting Hostcow with no luck.

I will update this thread with my progress.

Thanks a bunch guys

only a pleasure and good luck.
There is no need to contact Uniforum for the price of the renewal as you can obtain this info via the first link that I provided. Simply click the credit card payments link, provide the domain name and their site will confirm the renewal price.

Thanks JayN.

Payment has been made and I have contacted them as well. Would be lovely if I could have my site back up and running today

*$#@$*@*!*#$@!#@! piece of *#@(@!#*!* mothers !#@$(#@!$*#@!& swollen *&^$#^!@8! Hostcow!!!!

If the domain is o the EPP system and you are listed as the registrant email address, it is easy to move the domain yourself, if however on the Old Legacy system, it’s more difficult

Still no luck. Seems Uniforum offer the same level of service as Hostcow. I have now paid twice for my domain and still no end in sight

Who are you dealing with at Uniforum?

Care to send me a PM with the details and I'll see if I can help?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. If you made a Credit Card payment @ Uniforum, the payment would go through automatically (provided your credit card has enough funds, and you provided the correct details. Make sure you didn't get any errors with the payment). That would only renew your domain. hostcow could have shutdown your account in the meantime, for whatever reason, and renewing your domain won't help much in this case.

Use the WHOIS tool in Uniforum's website and see if the domain is paid up, or unpaid (it will be in red). If it's paid up, hostcow has suspended / terminated your account without just cause.

Do you have a registered company?
