How can we improve MyBroadband?

As I put in my survey response.

The ability to down and up rank a person's post (which goes darker the more it is down-ranked).

This would make it easier to deal with trolls and also help when browsing through 50 page threads to spot the decent posts from the trash.

Yeah, we can DEFINITELY do with some more variety....

MORE SMILIES

I've never understood the need for more pictures. The English language, if used correctly, is more than sufficient to get your point across. A few smilies are useful in ensuring that the tone of your post is interpreted correctly but any more and this starts looking more like a doodle pad in a kindergarten than a respected forum. Those calling for animated avatars and more smilies clearly have difficulty expressing themselves in words.

Besides we have just been given a whole lot more.

And would you "down rank" a post based purely on the fact that you do not agree with the sentiment contained therein?

There was something similar along time ago but it was voted off.

Hmm, I must be satisfied with the current status quo as I battled to think of anything I'd change! ;)

I suppose, as with all the complaints about Facebook changes, us human beings are creatures of habit and like things to stay the way they are!

Remove all gaming threads and start a kids section for that with options for colouring in the pictures.

loose the repetitive articles and the "pr press releases".

Reading the same thing 4 times a week that has been rewritten and repackaged as another article gets way too much.

I would personally prefer one really well written article a day than 5 or 6 really badly churned out ones.

+1

This would seriously not work in the PD or even off topic as there are certain groups that will all "pack effect" certain individuals.

It might work in the software development and other similiar sub sections where facts not opinions will be rate.

Yes, since this is a public discussion board, we should be able to apply our judgment to post's we feel are either inappropriate or down-right lies - on the flipside, we can promote posts (which turn blue and stand out more) that we agree with.

Check www.wow.com and the commenting system on their site. It works.

When? I've been on this site since 2003, didn't notice it ever being available on this forum.

The "pack effect" works both ways, people can "rescue" a post by voting it up as well.

I don't know how hard this would be to change, but:

Allow certain 3 or less character words in the Search bar. Sometimes I want to search for "MTN" threads, or maybe "3G" or "LTE", but it is not allowed by the Search feature.

Sometimes all you have are these 3 character keywords to find the thread you are looking for.

I find the press releases to be very informative sometimes :/

I'd prefer some kind threaded discussion system making conversation easier, like they have in the comments section of reddit.

Late 2005 and it was a dismal failure.

+1 these adverts are annoying!

Always click on them by accident and they steal the bandwidth.
Keep clicking on them - afaik they pay for the site to be hosted locally. ;)
