So my fibre crashed randomly yesterday.

After testing a few acxounts I noticed my lan ports op my telkom ont (that white fibre box) were not working. Power and pon light were 100%. So in a last ditch effort I hard reset the box. Now my lan ports are working again. But I guess the settings are back to defualt and the pon light is flashing green.

How do I fix this. I cant seem to access my ONT box

Thanks

You don't access it. You report it to your ISP and they report it to OpenServe.

The ONT is locked by the installer. You need to notify your ISP and they will log a fault so the ONT can be reconfigured remotely by Openserve.

LAN ports on the ONT are usually disabled. Only port 1 is active for you to connect your router to do the PPPOE connection.

Hey guys. I still dont completely understand how the ONT router connection for fibre works completely but nonetheless it is working.

I am using evotel and axxess ISP.

Axxess just "upgraded" the line from a 5mb up and down to a 10mb up and down.

The problem is that if I connect the ONT directly to my PC I get 10mb up and down but if I connect the ONT to the wifi router i only get 5mb if I connect to the router?

Can someone please shed light on this matter? I am using a zyxel wifi router and a Huawei ONT router (if that is even the correct way of saying it)
