So I received two traffic violations on NYE.

The traffic officer said I could pay via EFT.

Do I just make the EFT and put the notice number as reference?

It doesn't specify this anywhere on the two meter long ticket(s)...

Banks also have the option to pay fines on their website. Ok well FNB atleast

Register on paycity.co.za and pay it with your debit card.
sometimes it wont show up on paycity or FNB site,
sometimes the only time it will come up is before the deadline approaches, then youll get the SMS,

happened to me a while back, something to do with how broken their systems are, that it only sends the SMS when its almost time for a court appearance.

Yeah just tried to search my notice number but it doesn't find it.

had the same thing a while back, you can go down to the traffic department wait 20 years in a queue, and then pay it,
OR do what I do, wait until you get the SMS then it will show up on paycity, yes you lose the discount, but whats more convenient waiting in a queue or paying their ridiculous fine.

Don't do it... I have a little story to tell.
I received a traffic fine once in the mail and it had an option to pay via EFT. It also had options to pay at the Spar, Checkers etc, so as I was going to the Spar I thought I'll just pay there.
I presented the fine to the woman at the Spar and after a while she replied that I had paid the fine already...
I explained that I had not as I just received it..
Long story short, I suspect someone in the traffic dept intercepts these fines, squashes them then send you a fake fine with their bank acc no hoping you will do an EFT into their account.
I never paid the fine and nothing came of it...

Any information on where you got the ticket?
Place of payment is in Theewaterskloof Municipality. Court appearance is in Caledon

I stay in Somerset West so not a **** am I driving there

If I pay the one fine now, I save R500

its a trade off now, either you get in your car, drive to the traffic dept, wait in a queue, and pay the fine,
(do the calculation time and petrol ect you "save")

OR wait for the sms to come and pay whatever you have to pay.

was in a similar situation a while back, their systems are so broken that
it will only appear on paycity/FNB until its discount is gone and they you have the "convenient" option open

Ahh okay. Had something similar last month (not same Municipality). What you need to do is call the number on the notice and they will share the bank details as well as an email address to send them the proof of payment.

From there you should receive something from them confirming payment.

Is it similar to this:

It is actually one of those "Written Note to Appear in Court" tickets.

I was stopped for driving on a painted island. The admission of guilt fee is R700, which I want to pay. There is a due date however for when the fine should be paid (7 January) if I am to avoid a court appearance on the 21st of January.

I have been trying to call for more than 10 days now and no one is answering. I don't want to appear in court for a R700 ticket.

What sms are you talking about? I've never received an sms reminding me to pay a traffic fine.

I got one, when the traffic officer takes down your details
thats the number they put into their system that sends the SMS only after its time for you to pay up and the discount is gone.

I think you may be based in Joburg under the Aarto system? In Cape Town there is no discount for paying fines early.

I once had a fine had from Theewaterskloof. If I remember correctly the banking details were on the fine itself. I paid via EFT using the the notice number as reference. Never heard another peep about it (was about 10 years ago), but did keep all records of payment etc.

I got a fine in Ladysmith area. None of the banks had their payment details. I contacted the clerk of the courts and got the details from them.

This was pre covid though
