If you don't pay that fine you will not receive any further summons to appear in court, and you will eventually have a warrant of arrest issued against you for contempt of court if you don't appear in court on the date mentioned on the fine. These are definitely not the kind of fines you want to ignore.

Yeah I agree. I've ignored speeding fines for about 2 years until I sold my car.

In this case, it was a roadblock and the officer issued two tickets for me to appear in court.

People still pay fines? I stopped in the 90's when a black taxi driver showed me his handful of tickets and laughed at me..

No repercussions, yeah they bother me for a while sometimes but I just tell them I don't know of any fines, I've been able to renew licenses and live a normal life all these years.

Pay one pay all, **** that **** we're in a democracy now, are we not equal?

This may be true for fines that you receive in the post, but it's simply not true for fines that are issued directly to you on the side of the road. If you ignore those you will end up with a warrant of arrest out for you.
