How easy to move a pool ?

Pool is 1m away from the lounge and - in my opinion - too close the house considering the amount of space away from the house. One could easily move the pool backwards!

The pool is a mess anyhow so I wouldn't mind dropping in a fibreglass shell. The pool below is R40,000.00 (shell only I guess?) but how easy is it to move the current pool back?

Maybe fill in the front half to move the whole thing back?

Moving a pool is NOT cheap, and its money you will never ever see again...

Pick the projects on your house carefully if you want to maximise return.
 
Yeah, that seems like a hefty cost that you will never see back. Not worth it imo...

how long is the pool ? From where it is closest to the house to the other side of the pool? It is actually quite easy to make the pool "shorter" which i think is what you are looking at not actually moving the pool.

I could do that as well ... I'm checking everything out.


And use the current deep end as the pool - a splash pool.
 
Declare the current one a firepool & dig a new one further away ..
 
Make the existing one a splash pool like you said ...or a jacuzzi? Then put in a fibreglass shell somewhere more suitable?
 
Use it as an entrance to your Nuclear fallout bunker - then start building that bunker using your new pool as part of the excuse for the construction.

Be wary of modifying something like a pool.... it could lead to problems in the future, and also its money you will pour down the drain since you are making a feature of the house less desirable due to it being smaller...
 
You know for me, the only issue with this particular house is the size of the lounge - that's it. The lounge is the room that overlooks the pool and no space!

Otherwise I'd live here with pleasure. The problem is with the pool being so close, you can't even extend the lounge in future as the pool is in the way. Maybe I'll just get a price on fibreglass the existing structure then
 
Maybe if you posted some actual photos of the space, some of us could come up with creative solutions that won't cost the earth to get you more space, or make the house more desirable.
 
I need to go through again and measure everything out - get all the correct measurements etc

I can do something rough though
 
This is a rough idea - but the picture tells half the story.

A is the 20+ year old driveway - gray, cracked brick that not even all level. Part of it pure cement (no bricks) - so just a mix match
B is the back garden. Bushes, shrubs, weeds - nothing happening there. I think a full redoing of grass is the only way
C is the front garden. Due to no one looking after the garden, very little grass grass here. The purple beds are encroaching every few months to the point they're almost the size of the 'garden'. This is also full of weeds, etc
D is supposed to a tropical area behind the pool - but it's just a huge forest. I don't think anyone has seen the corner of the property ...

According to your link it's not only the shell.

"PRICE INCLUDES SHELL WITH A WEIR AND 1X AIMFLOW POOLKIT THAT CONSIST OF 06kw PUMP,2 BAG SAND FILTER,A DB BOX WITH TIMER AND TRANSFORMER,PVC FITTINGS,ALUMINIUM POLE LEAFNET AND A VACUUM BRUSH"
 
The idea is to repave A is nice clay brick - all even and level and looking fantastic. Currently on the sides of the driveway, there are old rotting sleeps which seperate the bedding (purple) and the driveway. When redoing, this will be a small wall 2/3 bricks high.

And second is clearning the whole garden. Every bit of grass of available will be removed and they'll start from scratch. There will be proper dividers taking the bedding back and stopping it from encroaching. Trees will be cut and removed totally.

These two should be around R60,000 and probably best bang for buck on the exterior?

Pool was just a thought.
 
For the tropical area... Rather than ripping everything out, try pruning stuff back, it might just make enough of a difference to be worthwhile day spent in the garden (it also gets rid of frustration).

My only thought is regarding enlarging the lounge area, this should be doable and it could be in a way that you haven't thought of just yet.
 
Thing is it can only go out (pool in the way - the gap between pool and house is 1m ...)

There are other rooms around it - and then absolute final is upwards which is seriously expensive. If it had a larger lounge, I'd live here and look after the place.
