You honestly may want to actually read up on his stuff since it seems you are woefully ignorant on the impact his work has had on modern day theoretical physics and even to a degree just modern day itself.
 
You guys are onto something. The speech synthesiser is still the same, but the rest of the hardware is cutting edge technology. Maybe it was initially him, but the system had to 'learn' how he thinks to compensate for his deficiencies. Maybe Stephen has faded away into a vegetative state, and the chair is doing the thinking.:wtf:

"Nothing came of it all" haha. You must be one of those "it's just a theory" people. His work forms the current baseline of modern understanding of black holes. "The laws of black hole mechanics" is one area he contributed to greatly that I can think of off the top of my head.

Hawking radiation is another. This cannot be detected using current technology but this isn't unusual in physics. The Higgs Boson wasn't detected until decades after it was first theorised.

So.. why does Hawkins get special treatment from God while there are countless others who died from similar illness who could have benefited from living longer to also 'find God'?

Then there's someone like Mugabe, is your God not supposed to be a fair God?

So, in order for me to live eternally I just dont have to believe in God? Righto, off the enrol in a new uni degree figuring I can change my profession every 50 yrs or so.

The logical conclusion is that ALS is not one single condition, in fact they do not understand it enough yet to have developed a cure. People live an average of 5 years...and if you understand what an 'average' is, then you will realise that everyone does not die at 2184-2186 days...some live 12 months, others live decades and die from other causes.
 
You are asking why SH is still alive? Have you seen just how many professional people look after him? He is surrounded by the best care money can buy.

To quote Princess Bride: 'Life isn't fair, it's just fairer than death, that's all.'

God has nothing to do with it.
