How Long Will My Macbook Pro Last?

Pooky, I am still using my first generation Macbook (white).

I have been using it at work and at home for the last four and a quarter years.

The trackpad button has died, but otherwise the machine is still going strong. After 3.5 years, I swapped out the original HDD (which is still working) for a larger capacity drive, upgraded the RAM and installed the latest OS (Snow Leopard). I certainly hope to use it for at least 3 more years.
 
lol 6-12 months for a desktop? Maybe a UPS, or better PSU could help it last longer.... also, do you have adequate cooling, and do you do any extreme oc's?

My desktop is almost 3 years old, never had a problem with the main hardware, excluding HDD's.

My macbook is 1yr 3months old now, still going strong, although i had to replace the hdd after about 11mo (under warranty).
