How much gas do you use

Only 11 years necro but why to start another thread when this thread title is perfect?

We moved to gas stove (oven is electric) in late February and 9Kg gas lasted for 1 month 3 days. We cook every day, breakfast & dinner but add lunch time cooking on weekends. It cost R348 to refill it yesterday. 2 adults, 1 child.

There are only 2 of us in the house
A 9Kg tank lasts 3 months

There is also a solar system operating for electricity and water heating, so the summer useage is 56kWH

We have 3x active 9kgs (stove, Weber Q, Blackstone) and one 3kg for the pizza oven. Fortunately running out of all three 9s simultaneously is unheard of.
 
19kg lasts us 6 months like clockwork pretty much, family of 4. R722 to fill up. So looks like we're average I reckon.

Jir, what stove do you have? Or do you have a gas geyser on there too? 1 month doesn't sound right, just for a stove.
We are 4 people. We use it a lot. We boild water on the stove in the kettle at least 3 times a day. Each of us make their breakfast and diner and supper, everything we do on there. Our 9kg last about 3 months in winter and a month or two longer in summer.

We got a defy gas hob from Hirsch's. It seems decent model.

Eish - 3 months would be peach on a 9Kg cylinder but it is not gonna happen. :-(

We have to learn to manage the flame properly I think. There is no need to have it full if utensil is small. In fact, it is not really necessary to have it full at all - except for a quick stir fry.

Our first 9kg lasted a year and a half, the second one about 10 months. This one is 8 months in and still feels about 1/3 full.

We do lots of cooking in the oven, sometimes the air fryer, so the stove is mostly used for breakfast (eggs, hashbrowns and bacon) and boiling water for coffee.
 
Well it depends how often you use it.
At first ours lasted over 9 months. Then when we got kids and they got older and started using it too it dropped to less tha 6months.
These days around 3-4 months.
I firmly believe that we get lower quality gas or they mix it with something these days. We don't cook that much more than we did 15 years ago.
Also some people like my wife will put a small pot/pan on the biggest burner and all the heat goes up on the sides.

Ditto here. I swear wives don't really think much about optimum consumption. Like gurrrrrrrrrrrrl, why the F would you insist I put on 2-3 washing machine cycles after 4pm when solar generation drops..
