Generally 8 hours with a power nap sometime over the weekend.

4 hours on Weekdays and about 5 on weekends, not including my 1 hour nap on a Sunday afternoon.

7 is the sweet spot for me. 8 on a Sunday.

Without drinking beer around 5-9 hours if im lucky, depends on the dogs.

With drinking beer, 3-6 hours if im lucky, for some reason beer makes me wide awake from midnight until around 3 LOL.

Then when im in my deepest sleep around 3-5 in the morning, our youngest dog decides shes awake now so we are also.
She also suffers from separation anxiety (not allowed in the bedrooms), so if im really not having a good night she can wake up every 2-3 hours so 11pm, 1am, 3am and then I usually let them out at 4 and then shes at the gate banging and barking for breakfast at 5-5.15.

This has been going on for years and my body is used to it, also used to waking up 3-4 in the morning to run a road race on a Sunday.

I'd say 8 is about right for me. I'd love to function on around 4. That's a lot of extra books I can read, and internet to devour. Hell, I could find a hobby of some sort!

I find that if I sleep 6 hours, I tend to be way more productive and somewhat awake when I get up. 8 hours feels good, but I feel dozy for two hours or so. 12 Feels like I am starting to slip into a sleep coma constantly and 20, well I had a problem.

I gotta say though, 6 hours with a nap somewhere around 6 pm feels wonderful.

Get: 4-5
Need: 7-8
Want: 8-12 (Or just before that sluggish, congested headache sets in)

Sleep is my single most favorite thing to do. I plan on, someday, not getting up again.
