5 years is really bloody good. I have friends that need to format every 3 months. But they download hacks and malware :P

running proprietary software not compatible with Windows 7 and above.

OS: Ubuntu Gnome 15.04
Date Installed: Earlier today before tea
Problems: None

OS: Windows 10 Insider
Date installed: Like 5 months ago (major updates change the date each time - last one was on 25/08/2015)
Problems:
- Webkit-based programs like Chrome and Atom tend to be slow or freeze.
- It's not Windows 7.
- Microsoft's multi-desktop feature works weirdly so I never use it.

OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
Date Installed: 2015-08-24
Problems: None

My hard drive broke last year, that install was from 2008.

Current is 2014 :/

Oh, Ubuntu LTS

Work laptop:

Original Install Date: 2013-09-04, 07:38:55 AM

On my machine at home - I'm pretty sure I installed Windows when 7 when RTM - so that makes that install a whisker over 6 years old...

Machine 1:
OS: Windows 7
Date installed: October 2010
Problems: Motherboard is dying.

Machine 2:
OS: Windows 8.1
Date installed: September 2013
Problems: None besides being Windows 8.1, going to swap it over in December or so.

Machine 3:
OS: Windows 10
Date installed: Update from 8.1 the moment I got the machine. August 3rd
Problems: Windows start menu sometimes says critical error and I have to reboot a couple of times.

Machine 4:
OS: Windows 8
Date installed: Pre-installed. March 2013 -> updated to 8.1 the day it came out.
Problems: None.

Probably the longest install I ever had was a Powerbook G4 installed with OSX 10.3 as I recalled back in September 2005.

That machine was running that original install, although upgraded all the way to 10.5 until February 2010 when I left the company.

It also managed an uptime of 116 days while travelling on my back every day, which was only broken because I had to test an update.
