How Telkom became cool

Bwahahahaha... Bwahaahahahah..... Bwahahaahhaahaaha

I'm rolling on the floor laughing here :crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh:

The problem with Telkom is still sales and support. The packages have improved, just wish they would get the customer aspect right.

People are laughing but HomeUnlimited on fibre is priced well. IF it was not for Telkom would we have had an Uncapped LTE service? When it launched in 2015 it was launched @ R599 per month including router and antenna with installation. It ran for a long time at that price too before finally settling @ R799.

3 years later I have yet to see anyone match that price or even introduce a product similar.

Only now Rain LTE started competing with Telkom launching very aggressively priced month to month LTE A products.

Believe it or not but Telkom did shake up fixed and Mobile broadband if you like it or not it's a fact.

No. Never again. Even if they pay me I will never make use of Telkom again. Telkom is Telkom.

they so cool that in 2017 they can look you right in the face and tell you that you moved your property km's further from the exchange ....... yeah no, I'll stick with what they are thanks and that's not cool.

This has the feel of a paid-for advertorial.

@Cavedog is correct as regards that one particular package. However dismal service and the inability to get even the most simple actions completed makes them useless.

A decade ago 90% of threads on mybb was to moan or find help about Telkom issues.

Telkom Mobile showed a lot of improvement.
Telkom (Fixed) not so much. They are reactive instead of proactive.

One do however need to also understand that they have a lot of overhead, not shared with similar companies overseas, such as cable theft and vandalism. I still feel though they are going after the same market as the other operators i.t.o fibre, when they already have the best footprint to start of with.

Agreed.

This!
I cancelled the work ADSL after getting fibre and was charged R550 for the pleasure of doing that! They have only just agreed to reverse it after calling 10217 4 times. The service is shocking until you get an agent who listens and does the job.

500GB for R50, for 31 days, on prepaid!!!!! Cooooooool. Fair enough it's only night data but nobody comes close to matching that. And it hopefully has the effect of getting bandwidth hogs (me included) off the network during peak hours.

I have noticed faster speeds during peak, unless that is just wishful thinking or a placebo effect.

Well my personal experience is that Telkom Mobile (3 years to date) is very good and my average spend is 30-40% of what it was with Vodacom. Telkom Openserve 100mbit/s Fibre (6 months or so) has been a rock solid experience so far. My opinion is they need to make their fibre more competitive in terms of pricing and I'd be even more happy.
