How to buy data bundle?

The v4me site is not going to be around for much longer which is why some of the functionality is gone.

Will ALL the functionality on the v4me site be available on the new Chinese site before v4me is scrapped?

Yes but I can base it on the consistent bad service that I get from Vodacom all round, including their big Vodashop in Midrand.

ocleroux - I have been using both sites in an effort to do all this. And no, I can't buy exactly what I want, it won't let me.

Why does it seem like you a magnet for bad service from Vodacom , Jane?.................lol

Lets hope things change

If you give off bad vibes, it will come back towards you.

Just my 2 cents.

If this has been covered earlier, apologies if I am repeating.

I have used 3 different methods to get data bundles onto my sim, and it does not matter whether you are contract, top-up contract or payg(pay as you go), I am a payg user.

1) buy airtime voucher from your normal outlets, at Pep stores you get more byte for your buck, I think there is a 10% discount. The load the airtime voucher using the normal method. Convert airtime to bundle using either vodacom4me or on your phone.

2) by airtime using any of the banks (it's instant), they all have links on internet banking/atm etc, then convert from airtime to bundles using either vodacom4me or on your phone.

3) Using vtime (check www.vtime.co.za), basically set up on your internet banking a beneficiary to pay VTIME, account number and account name is highlighted on the website. Vtime AUTOMATICALLY converts airtime to bundle, and this is immediate except if you are using Capitec.. So if you pay R189 to Vtime you get the bundle equivalent loaded on your sim card....right away.

Option 3 is the best option. Option 2 means you can buy airtime and covert when you need 2, and also like option 3, means you dont have to put your sim card into a phone to convert and load airtime, in my access my sim card is in a 3G router....so removing it just to load airtime was silly.

Hope this helps.

another thing before we have a go at vodacom etc, come over to london and see how cr*ap the support is here and how terrible 3G runs over here, yes we have millions more users in london... but they're nowhere near to upgrading to 14.4mbps - not even been talked about, you'll also be lucky to get any decent 3G download/upload as well.

My experience with vodacom is a good one, yes sometimes we dont always ask the right questions of the support people - I found the email route to customer support always gave me the right answers.

VodacomData
Code:
You can purchase a bundle on www.vodacom.co.za , login or register first if you need to. You then select My Vodacom, My Services then Broadband.
Looking under "Broadband"
I see the following:
Service: PriceInc: Status: Modify:
Under Service I see Bundels size and under Price Inc I see the price.
If I click on the bundel then a new pop-up opens; what happens next?
Im on 315 Top-Up package. My question is how do I convert to data.

Regards

Howto,
I am not sure of the www.vodacom.co.za route, but in general you from what I understand is that you have to have a credit before you can buy a data bundle, so without actual airtime you cannot "buy" a data bundle or in effect convert a monetary amount into data.

The only route to directly buy a data bundle, I have found was using "vtime", they do the conversion from airtime in to data bundle automatically.

I only have experience using the vodacom4me interface.

good luck

Vtime's data direct is the best thing since sliced cheese...I agree with greameconn above...it is unbelievable how easy it is with them to get your data...and you actually GET your data...like in quickly...like in right to your SIM card...really...they are my data heroes!

As for buying data online from Vodacom...I would rather buy my data via EFT...it is much safer...I would not like to share my credit card details online...even if it is on a secure line...well, that's just me...

vodacom prepaid data bundles

hi Guys

Just saw on my FNB site that I can buy vodacom prepaid data bundle 600MB for R189
anyone know how long it is valid for

Thanks
DD

Should be around 2 months, I get the same bundle from vodacom(*111#) and it only expires on the last day of the next calendar month

whats the cheapest option to load airtime online - is it R29?
where can i buy like R5 or so worth of airtime?

if you do the conversion dial *111#(after you`ve taken the sim out of the modem and put it into a cellphone) option 2 is for bundle purchase, choose then data bundle, then standard or advance data, then match your airtime with the bundle you want buy.
you can get a topup data contract or if you prepaid, just load the airtime and do the conversion or go to www.vodacom4me.co.za, go to my account, sub-menu data bundles. normal contract just go a vodacom store ask the salesman to add a bundle to your account. the price of the add on bundle will be the same price oas the prepaid bundles.
