:confused:Been thinking of jumping ship for some time and intend to terminate effective end January 2014. How do I go about it so that they can't come back at me for not doing some stupid thing?

There are quite a few threads about this.
Get the cancellation document, fill it out, fax it to them, keep proof of received fax and e-mail it to them as well.

Hi pedruid

Is there anything I can assist with that will change your mind?

Easiest method is via the @mweb.co.za account they allocate you. If you send a notification that you want to cancel via that they don't need any paperwork/ID copies etc.

pedruid,

Don't waste your time... trust me, there is better ISP's out there... They can offer your FREE for a year subscription and I'd still advise you to leave.

Odd, I've received confirmation with effective dates without sending in a thing.

Fudzy; buddy, this is MWEB... I'd e-mail, fax, write a letter, SMS, Whatsapp, Tweet, Facebook, make a phone call, visit and after everything, get confirmation they received it.
THAT is how much MWEB can not be trusted.

I had a chat to a lady as well who wanted to confirm this with me as well. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I get billed for January.

Wonder how many customers they losing?
Ive sent mine in last week as I wasn't happy with 0.3 Mbps on the 2mb standard account while the 1mb premium is 3x faster than that and that's with using 20gigs for the month!

You need to chisel your cancellation out on a titanium slate, trek for 37 days to Mordor, scale Mt. Doom and fling it into the pit of hell!

You should take that titanium slate, put it into a rail gun and fire it straight into their HQ.

Mweb is a load of crap. I am stuck till the end of January due to their **** cancellation policies. You are making the right decision in GTFO Mweb. Down with Mweb, Down with tyranny! (cheers all around)

Just download 50-100gb in a week on their uncapped packaged and they'll disconnect and cancel your account automatically!
How is that for good service! :p

I know this is an old post! I am also trying to cancel my mweb account. I found a place on the website where it has the "cancel my account" option (not easy to find!). I clicked on that and it opened up a questionnaire with questions like "why are you leaving", "reason for cancellation", "what is your next step" etc. It will not allow you to proceed until all these details are filled in from the drop down boxes. After going through all of this it says "unfortunately you cannot cancel this product". This is highlighted in red. I am on a month to month contract so whats the issue?

One does not easily cancel MWEB :3

Almost impossible to get through to mweb! There is not even an email address where I can contact them. they only have phone numbers on their website. I have been holding on for ages with no luck. This is absolutely pathetic. I cant wait to get out of their service.

Good morning, send me a private message with your MWEB details and I will then log this to our cancellations team to contact you.

Thanks for your reply. I did finally manage to get through and cancel. I was told I would receive an SMS confirming the cancellation which I have not received as yet. I hope this will not be an issue.
