I've only had Fibre for 3 days now and out of those 3 days, it's been offline for 1 day now. I sent a call me back on their site, I sent message on Twitter, sent message on fakebook, I sent email, no reply on any of them! Openserve app won't even let me link my B Serial number on the app, says it doesn't exist!

I don't really have an ISP yet because I'm in the 30 day free period and can still decide on an ISP. How am I supposed to report an outage of you can't get in touch with anyone?!?

Heck, for that matter how are you supposed to exercise your consumer rights with a company you can't even get in contact with?

You won't get respond that easy from OS. Better thing is to choose your ISP and let them deal with them.

Hi There, you need to reach out to your isp and they will intern get in touch with Openserve. so best bet would be to log a fault with your ISP and they will log with openserve.

That's the thing though Cobus, I haven't signed up with an ISP yet. I'm on the 30 day free Fibre that Openserve rolled out when Fibre was available. They said you get 30 days free and then you can choose an isp. So which isp am I using then? What's the default for Openserve, Telkom?

(Disclaimer: I have not tried this), but maybe try to log a fault on Telkom's site or by calling their support I think its 10210 or 10213 or 081180 Reason being that their systems are linked in some way and you do have a B number, S/N number or commissioned line, so you should appear on some system there

I used their site to track my openserve order since the app didn't work for me at that time. Just a suggestion though and you're still dealing with telkom, so if all else fails then probably sign up with an isp and use their support channels. Hope you get sorted.

Yeah for the 30 days you probably where on TelkomInternet, i suggest signing up with an isp and tell them you already have an existing installation. Give them the B number so that they can onboard you. if you want, can help you with that isp signup?

Also take note, not all isp’s are in your area. My suggestion would be. Go onto an isp website, see if fiber is in your area. Subscribe and they will do all the arrangements

As simple as that

I tried to sign up with cool ideas this morning. They can't receive ownership because I'm "still with another operator", even though I don't even know who that operator is.

So signing up with an isp doesn't help it seems. Ugh, what a headache this thing is. Lol...

Did you try linking your service number with the ONT serial number instead of the B number?

The contractor that did the installation should have also left his number on the ONT box to get hold of him if there are any issues.

EDIT: Also note that contractors often like to take their time marking the installation as complete which would lead to the service not being able to be linked as yet on the app.

Using serial number worked. I can at least see the stuff on the app now. But I don't see an option to migrate the line. It shows my isp as Openserve, which really sucks because in order for Openserve to do something you have to log a fault with your ISP and they will get in touch with Openserve on your behalf, yes? So how do I get in touch with Openserve in order to get in touch with Openserve?

The only thing it shows me on app is an option to "upgrade" line. Was hoping I could then choose cool ideas from there, but it shows "no deals found" and not loading any isps, packages etc.

Maybe because actual ONT is offline now? I'll try again after 1pm when loadshedding is over.

But at least I got some forwarded momentum with adding the serial number, thanks.

You can still order through a ISP on the ISP's website but you would do it as a new install, Openserve then comes through or calls you and activates a port number on the ONT for the ISP where you will get a new B Number from your ISP. (Generally this can be done at anytime but to make the most of the 30 day free trial you can order from a ISP from around the 15th)

You can also try the virtual agent (top right on the app for me) to see if you can log a fault or you can try selecting network status, select no internet?, select go to line test and following on from there.
